  • Hi all. I'm a stay at home mum looking for some work from home. I've tried survey taking and kleeneze online to no avail does anyone have any ideas to make little extra money?

That is such a wide ranging question, no one can answer it without more information.
    What are you interested in?
    What are you good at?
What would you like to do?
How many hours can you work?
    How often can you work?
Are you good with your hands?
Are you good with your brain?
    Have you any qualifications?
    Have you any experience?
    How are your communication skills?
    Are you a practical person?
Do you mind getting your hands dirty?
Does it have to fit in with school hours?
    Can you work nights?
    Computer or phone based?
    Any administration skills?

Hi, I work 30 hours about 70 miles from where I live, simply because there's no work doing what I do in my town. The thing is that I have to pay £30 for an open train ticket then £70 for 2 nights in a B&B, which is £400 per month out of a 30 hour wage just so I can work. So I really need a second income, preferably working from home (but not necessarily), but have no idea what to do? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

But only you know what you can do, how much extra you need to earn in order to be comfortable. There are many different ways to make money in your spare time, but its not really a question anyone can answer.

But there is lots of information about what you could do on here - which you should read and come to your own decisions.

I guess you will also need to decide if this job is really worth it, given the outlay you are making on travel. If your town is big enough, there will always be openings.

Would you be much/any worse off taking a different job closer to home? Spending £400 a month is an awful lot of money just to do whatever it is you do.

I know, and I appreciate your thoughts, but honestly, without getting into details (only because there's no need, and my work is all above board etc.;)) there are zero job opportunities in my town and I have to go where the opportunities are, even if it costs me for now.

Is there some reason why you can't move? Having lived in a dead end, rural place for 18 months with no opportunities and most people commuting a similar distance every day. I have to wonder why they continue to do that commute. I simply moved to where the work is, I now spend next to nothing on fuel and have gained an hour and half of me-time every single working day.
