Gosh aren't people irritating that park too close. Sorry your favourite place had an off day too. Sounds a bit rude to leave you sat for so long.
Yes, I get irrationally angry about parking.:rotfl: Probably because I've got a weird obsession with parking properly & everyone who knows me just rolls their eyes at me.
Was a bit weird in the restaurant but it wasn't just us as they seemed to have messed up a few other reservations. Has put me off going back to be honest & was a bit embarrassing as we'd taken friends who'd never been there before.:oI'm slightly worrying that it was me who parked too close. I sometimes walk back to my car and wonder if it was really me who put it there.

Had a long day today as an early start to take my mum to hospital for her cataract surgery. All went well & only took a couple of hours. DH & I went for our breakfast whilst waiting & then got some food shopping done.
After we picked mum up we went a wander around a big shopping centre nearby & I bought some clothes for myself - a couple of tops in bigger size & longer length, some nighties, stretchy trousers, big pants, comfy slip on trainers for when I can't reach my feet etc. Also got a few bits & bobs for baby like bodysuits, bibs, muslins, a cellular blanket & 2 sheets for the moses basket mattress (only £3 in the sale). Had £25 on a gift card so not as bad as it could have been but still a bit more than I should have spent.
Just chilling out with the kitties & DH on the couch, back to work for 7 late shifts from tomorrow.:(Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -

Yes Bob, it's actually amazing how they do it, my mum is a nurse & has been present at loads of cataract surgeries so knows exactly how they do it. Apparently the tool they use is something like a miniature pneumatic drill that pounds the cataract into tiny fragments & then sucks the debris away & they then slip a new lens in. You obviously have local anaesthetic eye drops in at this point.
My mum said it was a bit different as a patient though & she did feel a bit panicky at first. She was glad the nurse was there to hold her hand! To be honest I was the same when I got laser eye surgery (around 5 years ago now) to correct my shortsightedness. I think it's because someone is going near your eyes to carry out a procedure & the fear is just instinctive. My eye sight was getting so bad & my glasses had lenses that were really thick at the edges even when I paid to have them thinned.
Mum was great afterwards, just had to wear a clear plastic eye shield for rest of today & tonight and has some drops to put in over the next few weeks. She wasn't really in any pain, just some discomfort after a couple of hours & paracetamol helped with it. She's to go back in 4 weeks for a check up & will get a date for her other eye to be done then.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Just a quick post as need to get ready for work soon, not looking forward to a 7 day slog but it's usually not too bad once I'm there. Wonder if my maternity uniform trousers have arrived yet?
Will try & get to the bank before work as have some cash to pay in. Most of it will be going towards the baby fund but might have some towards the debt.
Up to £2.75 on 0nepoll, need to try & do more surveys for other sites as well.
Our pram accessory pack arrived this morning, the stuff in it is good but really glad we didn't have to pay the full £75 rrp for it. Will definitely have to buy the foot muff for colder weather but don't need it straight away so can hold off buying & see if we can get a deal for it rather than paying £80. :eek:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. So glad your Mum is alright after her op. And being a nurse must make it slightly easier than for the average person. Well done again on your bargain pram shopping." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Thanks Bob.
Work wasn't too bad & my maternity trousers actually arrived in the smaller size. :j They're still quite big though & very long. :rotfl: Argh my stomach is getting bigger but my legs are not getting longer!:rotfl:
Got a small Quidc0 payment through so paid that off the loan.
Managed to pay in the cash at the bank before work, £6 was in coins we had saved & bagged up so that can be paid off the loan tomorrow. £40 is going into the baby fund, with the remaining £20 to be paid off the credit card as my mum had given us money towards lunch the other day but we paid by card.
Had a bit of a drama when paying the money in as did it all, left the branch & went to post something then looked at my receipt and didn't recognise the account number my cash had been paid into. Checked & double checked - definitely not my account. So turned around and went back to the bank. Lady who had paid it in was adamant she had swiped my card but I don't think she did, I think she forgot & the cash had been paid into the account of the person before me. Just glad I noticed quite quickly that it wasn't right and that I had said yes when she asked if I wanted a receipt.
Our bank account looks dire atm as the mortgage and quite a few bills have come out but payday next week thankfully. :j I can update my debt sig & hopefully it will look a bit better then.
It's DH's birthday today (since it's after midnight) but we're both working late shifts. Have paid £7 off the loan today, my usual £1 plus the £6 in coins I banked yesterday.
Have made minestrone soup this morning for lunches at work & used up some of the sad looking vegetables in the fridge.
DH liked his birthday presents which is good but is a bit annoyed that he has to work today. :cool:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
Wow that is quite a serious mistake by the cashier! Thank goodness you were on the ball.

Hi Bob, yes something just made me check the receipt, so maybe I didn't see her swipe my card but didn't consciously realise it at the time.
I also bought a pair of jeans in the size up & noticed that the leg length was longer. Why do the legs get longer because the waist is bigger?
No real news, 5 more shifts to go at work before 2 days off. Going to jump in the shower shortly and try not to rush about too much before work.
Had a bit of a struggle parking the new car at work yesterday because other people had parked on or over the lines of the spaces & still not used to the size of my car either - got into one space after a bit of manuevering only to realise there was no room for me to open my door and couldn't move over because the person on the other side was over the line!!
Then took me nearly 10 mins to get into another space as it was an awkward angle and the cars on either side were also parked right on the lines and there were cars in front just to add to the awkwardness.Nearly started crying as could feel myself really starting to panic, there was nowhere else to park & I was going to be late for work if it took much longer. Gave myself a talking to and just said "You can do it" and did manage to get into the space. Only just had enough room to squeeze out of my door right enough as the other cars were so close but no other way for me to do it.:mad:
Went and moved my car as soon as there was a better space but felt a bit traumatised by it all.:(
