Oh dear, feeling a bit hungover today.
I just shouldn't drink wine. Had a nice lunch and good to see friends but only ever drink wine with them & it gives me a terrible headache the next day.
I did drink a lot of water as well so it could have been worse.
Need to try & get the bathrooms cleaned today and put a washing away. Really need to do some ironing as well. Aiming for a very easy dinner of gnocchi with a tomato sauce & garlic bread tonight. DS can also feed himself as it's easy to pick up.
Also need to work out what is in the freezer & try to plan some dinners around this. Off the top of my head there are 4 beef burgers, mince, stewing steak and chicken thighs in terms of meat.
Got £20 of the B&Q vouchers through yesterday, when the other £20 arrives we can make a list and go shopping for garden supplies. Need to remember some fine netting to stop the birds eating all our berries in the garden. There is a particularly annoying fat magpie who steals them regularly.
Cashed £20 out of PA today, have been trying to check more regularly & it seems to be working.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £11,174, Car loan 2 £5,532, CC 0% BT £780. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
I hope you have recovered from your hangover, sashy.
Well done on your survey payouts. I am kind of off them for the moment - I go through phases where I can!!!8217;t be bothered, but I should really get back onto them.0 -
Hi chanie,
Thanks, luckily I only had a headache in the morning & paracetamol shifted it along with lots of water.
I go through phases with surveys as well, find I get sick of them at times but it is useful extra money to try & pay off the debt so do try. Up to £9.40 on onep0ll again, still waiting for my last payout from them (£25). I try to check onep0ll a couple of times a day as they are nice quick surveys & I can do them on my phone, so a bit easier with DS about.
Managed to get the bathrooms cleaned yesterday whilst DS played about & got the washing put away but no ironing (again). Put another washing on & hung it up though.
Stuck a loaf on in the breadmaker as DH used nearly all the bread & didn't think to tell me. DS had cheese & cucumber with a brioche roll and some mini sweet pepper crackers for lunch. He thoroughly enjoyed helping himself to it all in his highchair.
We had gnocchi for dinner but DH wanted a cheese sauce instead of tomato. He chopped & fried some chorizo & we stirred that through as well. It was very nice & easy for DS to pick up and feed himself too. Just have to keep an eye on him because he stuffs it all in his mouth at once if he's enjoying it & then looks like a hamster with fat cheeks. :rotfl:
DS & I are still in our PJs and DH at work until 5pm. No real plans for today atm. Trying to think of something easyish for dinner otherwise DH will get home grumpy & hungry and want a takeaway. :cool:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. I love the smell of proper tomato plants, I finally put some seeds in yesterday which is really rather late.
Dinner- something slow cooking on the hob that you can ignore? Mince? Stew?My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hi redo,
I love the tomato plant smell too, reminds me of being a wee girl in my grampa's greenhouse. The weather has been so bad you're probably planting at the right time with the tomato plants.
We need to plant our courgette, radish & runner beans in the next few weeks. My other £20 B&Q vouchers have arrived, so we can go for a visit to get garden supplies soon. Fingers crossed they have some reduced plants I can rescue. I get sad seeing them all drooping & dying off, they're usually fine after a bit of tlc.
Dinner wise, great minds & all that, I've stuck some chicken thighs in the slow cooker with curry paste, onion, pepper, garlic & tomatoes. Will add some coconut milk later, hopefully it turns out ok. We have rice but no naan, I could make flatbreads or the lazy option is to get DH to buy naan bread on his way home. :rotfl:

Have a lovely weekend Sashy

Thanks W, DH working all weekend so not the best.
Well small cat has gone insane, she bit my finger quite badly this afternoon because I was taking a piece of toast from her that she had stolen from DS. My finger bled for quite a while & is still throbbing.I washed it out with water then TCP & then antiseptic cream & a plaster on top, hope it doesn't get infected.
She is definitely banned from the kitchen when we're eating now. I don't think she would bite DS but can't be sure. She is so aggressive around food. I don't know why she's like this & have never had another cat behave like this and she is the 5th cat we've owned so we're not inexperienced with cats either.
Stripped the bed & washed the bedding, a clean set of bedding put on later. Did another washing of DS's stuff & finally another dark washing. Apart from having a shower & dealing with DS I've not done much else.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Yack, hope it doesn't get infected. Cat bites can be nasty. Have you got any 'optrex for sticky eyes'? Its liquid antibiotic eye drops that you buy from the chemists for red eye but is quite useful for bites or gardening wounds. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Hi redo, it's looking a bit red & swollen today so might have to head to the chemist/doctors if it gets any worse.
It's not throbbing so much now though so maybe it will be ok. The optrex sounds like it would be good to have around.
I still can't believe she bit me so hard. I've been nipped by the previous females (bossy Siamese & neurotic Oriental, both now in the great cat cardboard box in the sky) & the current boys we have but only as a warning & never seriously. The boys are really just soppy, little cat thinks she's a lioness or something.
DS is fascinated by the plaster on my finger & keeps prodding & trying to pull it off. _pale_ I think I need to apply a proper dressing but am rubbish at it, the bite is on my right index finger & I'm right handed.
Went into town with DS today to get something for my sister's birthday & also to get both of us out a bit. I drove halfway & parked, then walked the rest of the way with the pram to get a bit of exercise.
I got a t-shirt & a nice vest top for my sister, not sure if she'll like them but also got a gift receipt.
I got some bargain tights in B00ts - 3 pairs of 60 denier for £2.07, :T one pair was navy, one black & one berry. Also got a 100 denier berry pair of cosy tights (fleece lined :j) for £2.13 which I thought was quite good. They had black 200 denier tights as well but I didn't know if that was too much, didn't even know you could get 200 denier tights!
Also bought a denim shirt for DS (so so cute) as had 30% off (so only £5.60) & was looking for a shirt for him to wear to his cousins birthday party later in the week.
Am up to £10.20 on Onep0ll & have £11 sitting in PA, got lucky and nabbed a £7.50 survey there the other day. :j Still waiting on some survey money arriving but should be able to pay at least £40 off the z0pa loan this month. I worked out that to get the monthly payment to just under £180 p/m (currently £203) I have to pay £350 extra off, so that's my target & the £40 will take it down to £310 straight away.
DH sold one of the isofix bases for the car seat that DS is too big for now (we're keeping the car seat & one base in case DH ever agrees to another baby :rotfl:) & got £75 for it. :T After fees/postage we have £70 so £50 is going off the next highest interest loan (as we can lower the interest paid & term when overpaying this one & it has the highest balance) & £20 is going into DS's savings.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. My finger is infected & wrapped in a giant bandage now. Decided to see the nurse today at my GP as it was still sore & swollen and wasn't looking good. Now on antibiotics for a week, thanks crazy little cat.
Made a tuna pasta bake for dinner & used up some of the sad looking veg in the fridge. DS quite enjoyed it but his favourite bit was the garlic bread, he is a total bread monster so have to be careful how much we give him. :rotfl:
Have also made rice pudding to use up the whole milk that was going out of date. It made loads so will freeze most of it for DS, he tried it and approved.
I need to make more cheese & spinach muffins as both DS & DH enjoyed them & they froze well. Was wanting to make some base tomato sauce up to freeze too for DS so it can be used with pasta etc & won't have to make it from scratch every time.
Hoping to get oven pride on the oven before bed tonight as it's really bogging. Might attempt the ironing too. :rotfl: Have already done a washing & hung it up.
Tomorrow I need to get the nematodes into the soil before DH goes to work and then need to do the hoovering and clean the kitchen floor if I can get it done without DS moaning too much.
Need to check & see if there's something easy for my mum to have for dinner on Thursday as she is babysitting for us whilst we're both at work on late shifts. Hoping DS sleeps for her this time, he likes to stay up with her instead. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
