Hi Beanie, all ok thanks, no real changes in the situation. My mum is now roughly halfway on the waiting list for her neurology appointment, 27 weeks to go. She coped well watching the kids this week when both DH & I were working early shifts and will have them for 2 late shifts next week.

We managed to change orthodontist for DS, still a different area and a bit awkward to get to but doable on public transport as well as driving so a bit better. I've been getting more and more anxious about driving over the last few years and really struggle when I have to drive somewhere unfamiliar. 😥

We got an appointment within a week as well and he has been approved for his braces on the NHS and getting them fitted next month. Poor wee guy, I'm a bit worried it will be sore for him but at least he'll get the braces over and done with before high school.

Good news on the braces for DS. Glad your mum is ok.

Will try to keep my diary more up to date, it does help to talk about all the random things and helps me feel like I've gotten some things done on days where I feel like I've done nothing but chase my tail.

This morning I went for my annual blood test, I usually have it in January but the Drs didn't contact me about it until a couple of weeks ago. Since I had gestational diabetes with DD, I now need to have this annual blood test to check I haven't developed type two diabetes. So fingers crossed all ok as usual. I was actually meant to go yesterday morning, got up and organised and then ate my breakfast. 😑 It's a fasting blood test, took me about 10 minutes to realise, go "oh s**t" and phone the Drs to rearrange. 😂

Did an arms & core strength workout after breakfast and hung out a washing. Took the kids down to see my mum and my sister was there with her youngest DD who is 2 and her grandson who is 5. One of her older DD's came in as well as she finished her driving lesson nearby. Kids had fun with their cousins although DD was a bit teary, I don't think she has been sleeping great. She still gets up about 4 or 5 nights a week in the early hours and comes into my room and stares at me until I wake up. I must be on alert though as I usually hear her at the bedroom door. I don't think I've slept properly for about 10 years since before I was pregnant with DS!

Cashed out some survey money and will pay some off the car 0% CC and put some into the holiday spending money savings.

DH & I took advantage of the friend referral offer that Ch@se bank are doing again for the first time in ages, I gave him a referral code, he opened a new account and had to transfer £1000 in within 30 days, he just did it straightaway. We both got £50 as soon as he did, it was very straightforward and got us £100 towards our holiday spending money.

DH and I are both off work tomorrow so are taking the kids for a wee day out in Edinburgh, hopefully it won't be too wet and the kids behave. They are back at school next week, then the following week we're taking them out for a week for a break down south as we couldn't get annual leave during the Easter holidays.

Looking forward to the break although DH is getting annoyed with me as I haven't driven his new car (not used to automatics/electric cars) and don't really want to take a turn driving it on the motorway. I get so stressed out driving as it is but I do feel guilty that he does all of the driving when we go away. Also sure the outlaws will moan at me about it (sadly we are staying with them for 2 nights at the start of the break 😒).

Just thought I'd lost this whole post as Big Cat decided it was the perfect time to walk precariously between my keyboard and the screen. He hit the keyboard and the whole post disappeared. 😮 Luckily found in drafts. Old Cat was also sitting between my hands and the keyboard forcing me to type around him at the same time! Old cat will be 18 next month so he is very stubborn and just will not move out of my way if he doesn't want to. 🤣

My cats - three of them- are the same way. Keep hitting the caps lock key all of the time. I catch the other strange things right away, but can't see that one until I have to retype things.

What do you like to visit in Edinburgh? I really enjoyed my trips there. It was my mother's favorite place on the trip with my parents. I really liked going to the People's Story museum on Canongate as it showed how the poorer people lived.

Good job with adding to the family travel fund.

Enjoy Edinburgh. The kids will love the museum in Chambers Street.

Outlaws should mind their own business (though we know they don't!).

When I got my car I was a nervous wreck as it was electric and automatic and I've never driven either. I took to it straight away, and it's so much easier and nicer to drive than a petrol/diesel. I'll never go back. Perhaps you could try driving DH's car on local quiet roads and give it a go? Even if you still get him to drive on your break, you'd at least feel more confident about driving it should you have to at some point.
