Feeling very tired today, haven't done much except hang the washing up. Had quite a good sleep last night so don't know why I'm so tired today.

Just browsing the internet and doing some surveys, no real plans at the moment although I'm sure there are plenty of things I should be doing. :o

Continued to have a very lazy day yesterday but my mum came up for a visit with my brother's girlfriend & my baby niece who is 9 months now.

Poor wee soul has a bad cold and was coughing away, she seems to have a weak chest as was born at 30 weeks. She was having a good stare at me the whole time I was holding her, she likes to study people and have a good think before she decides if she likes you enough to give you a smile. :rotfl: I got there in the end. :rotfl: She got all excited and shouted when she saw one of my cats and he got scared and ran away. :o The little cat came & sat next to her and had a good look but didn't seem too bothered about her which was good. Big cat ran and hid as soon as he saw her, he is the definition of a scaredy cat when children are around :rotfl:

Not feeling so tired today, think I overdid things on Sunday which was why I was so sleepy yesterday. Did a few things around the house earlier so will take it easy for the rest of the day and do some surveys and some reading. DH is off work tomorrow & Thursday so hoping baby will make an appearance in the next couple of days. :)

Hi all, still waiting for this baby to make an appearance - nearly a week past my due date now & feeling quite impatient. Plus the phone calls & texts "Have you had the baby/are you in labour?" I know people mean well & it's because they care but argh we'll tell you when the baby arrives!!

Went out for lunch with DH yesterday & that's about it. Was too tired to go to Ald! afterwards but only need a couple of things anyway. Might go later today. DH has cut the grass & tidied the garden so far as well as hanging out the washing. Weather is lovely but I'm just grumpy & uncomfortable.

Thanks Kirsty, feeling very grouchy at the moment & DH pretty much staying out of my way.:rotfl: Have been getting a bit of period like pain low down & some slightly sharper shabby pains intermittently but nothing much else so don't think anything is imminent.

Also have lovely slightly swollen fingers, ankles, feet & toes. I'm a delight.:p

DH also wants to do an online shop & get it delivered tomorrow but I don't think we actually need a full shop & he is just being a bit lazy. :o Think we should save the online shopping until the baby appears & we really need to spend the extra for the convenience.

We went to Ald! & got a few things, just wiped out with the heat and not feeling too great.

DH out watering the garden now the sun has gone down. He told me today that his parents want to stay with us when they come up to visit the baby. We told them months ago that this wasn't going to happen.

Apparently they're not coming up straight away but when the baby is a couple of weeks old (I don't think they're going to want to wait that long to see their first grandchild) & they're only going to stay 3 days & they won't interfere. I don't see any of this happening & really think it will just totally stress me out having them in our house whilst we're trying to adjust to having a baby! DH has told them it's up to me so that I look like the bad one if I say no!

They also want to set a date to come up! The baby isn't even born yet! It might be another week or even longer away.:mad:

Argh I just knew this would happen.:mad: I don't think I'm being unreasonable wanting some space after having our first baby. :(

Not unreasonable at all sashy - my sister said that even a few hours was too long with people at some times, and you need time to get into your own routine with the little one.

The fact they are wanting to set a date now is pretty terrible as well. Don't worry about looking like the bad one - remind DH that it was agreed months ago that they aren't staying and hopefully he will reiterate to them that it's both of your decisions!

Having a new baby is stressful enough, without having to worry about overnight visitors!

That's what I thought Kirsty - it's all overwhelming and just don't need this on top.

Still stressing out about DH's parents - I knew they would do this even though they agreed previously that they weren't going to stay with us. DH told them months ago so we didn't have to go through all of this near the birth.

To be honest I don't have the best of relationships with the PIL as they didn't want him to move so far away from them (understandable) and blame me for it. They're quite controlling and don't like that I don't do what I'm told and that DH isn't as under control as he used to be. We've been together for 14 years and I don't think things will ever really change between us. I feel sorry for my DH as he's stuck in the middle but they're just guilt tripping him now.

I understand that they want to see the baby and they're excited but they don't need to stay with us to see the baby! MIL seems to think I'm never going to let her see the child.:(

My mum is telling me to compromise but I just can't deal with them in my house 24/7 when I've got a new baby. I struggle with them staying here under normal circumstances. :(

My friend has an 11 week old and she said she went to stay with her PIL for a few days when he was 2 weeks old and she really struggled and was desparate for her own space again.

Trying not to think about it too much as it's making me angry.

Still struggling in the heat and feeling grumpy which isn't helping the above. A couple of my friends are dropping round for a visit so that should take my mind off things a bit.

I really feel for you Sashy, it's such a precious time for you as a new family that you shouldn't feel pressured into accommodating other peoples wants.

Hope your friends visiting helps you feel a bit brighter x

I don't think you are being unreasonable whatsoever, but also without wanting to sound rude, think your OH should tell them no. It's his role at the moment to make sure you get what you need. At the hospital, and at home.

It is hard when you have relatives that don't live locally that want to descend on you.
