Ooh not long to go now Sashy, how exciting :happyhear Got to love a good bounce on a birthing ball, DS1 loved trying to push me off mine when I tried to bounce DS2 out :rotfl:
Sending hugs and stacks of patience for dealing with DS and his tantrums, it's a shock to the system when they go through this phase but I promise it gets easier!
Take care lovely x0 -
Hi all, thanks for dropping in.
SA my feet are indeed still peeling.:rotfl: I'm trying to rest more.
Thanks Beanie, it was nice to see my friends.
VF, DS was 13 days overdue. I finally had him the day before I was due to get induced. I had a very long labour and forceps delivery so hoping that it's easier this time.
Thanks Dancing, DS loves playing with the birthing ball and my old cat is terrified of it. :rotfl: The tantrums are something else  but we had a better day today.
DH got two washings done and hung them out on the line today, they dried as it was a bright day with a breeze but definitely colder than it has been.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Had a bit more of a productive day yesterday, we looked out the microwave steriliser and prep machine. I washed and sterilised the steriliser and DH did the prep machine. I also washed out the big box I kept all of DS's bottles/cups after washing (but before sterilising when he was still small enough to need it) and moved DS's stuff into a smaller box and put the new bottles into the big box.
This morning I have rearranged the worktop so we have space for the prep machine along with the bread bin, toaster and aforementioned storage boxes.
DH helped me strip the bed yesterday and he put the washing on, then into the TD and I put the sheets away. Still using the method of folding everything inside one pillowcase as it keeps the whole set together. My folding is still atrocious but as long as it fits I don't care.DH then put new sheets onto the bed. :T
I chucked ingredients in the breadmaker yesterday and it made a seeded loaf, only had 3 of the 5 types of seeds but it still tastes nice.
Did a bit of bouncing on the ball, still no sign of anything happening yet.
Today I made minestrone soup for lunch and we still have plenty left for another day. Will definitely do a double batch of the base for the minestrone (carrots, onion & garlic chopped and put through the food processor) and freeze half again. It made making the soup today much quicker as I only had to peel and chop a few potatoes then the other ingredients were in tins plus some stock and pasta. :T
Got some mince out of the freezer and have asked DH to make the meat part of lasagne later today. We can then use it tomorrow to make the lasagne as it always tastes better the next day.Don't know what we're having for dinner tonight yet though, probably something easy.
Have cashed in some codes from my daily tv survey, had £4 over the last 2 months so should really make more of an effort to do them every day.
Need to get the Moses basket down from DS's wardrobe and set it up but that won't take long. Need DH to get it as it's on a high shelf.
Have plugged in the cat pheromone plug in to try and get the cats into a more relaxed state of mind. :rotfl: I also found one of the microwave heat pads so got that out for Old cat as he hates the cold.
Still trying to do a few surveys whilst I can, I'm sure they will be on pause for a bit shortly.
DH has been amusing me by reading out his parent's messages from Amsterdam. They hate it. :rotfl: They were on a river cruise for a week and it finished in/near Amsterdam so they had to stay there for a day or two before getting their flight home. They keep complaining that it's dirty and horrible and was a lot nicer 50 years ago when they went. :rotfl: Yes 50 YEARS AGO. :rotfl: That bit tickled me. :rotfl:Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Hi HH, my PIL are loons. :rotfl:
I have a feeling I'll have to go in to get induced, I don't think this baby wants to come any time soon. But as you say, you never know.
I had a nice bath after DS went to bed tonight and my feet are still peeling hideously. Got my flu vaccination tomorrow morning, a bit late as I don't think the immunity will have time to pass over to the baby but it was the first clinic my GP practice were running.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Still no real sign of this baby wanting to come out, must be too comfy in there.
Went to the GP on Saturday morning for the flu vaccination clinic. It was mayhem combined with pensioners day out. So many people everywhere, I was barely in the door before I was given an injection and shoved out again. :rotfl: Oh well, at least I wasn't kept hanging about.
Went over the road to Mr M's after that to get a couple of things and it was nice and peaceful as it was half 9. They had all the lights lowered until 10am and it was actually much nicer. I was saying to DH and he said it's an autism awareness thing where they lower the lights and turn off the music every Saturday morning between 9-10am.
Got DS some new jogging trousers as the ones he has are starting to get a bit short, he's just fitting the length in some 2-3 size trousers at Mr M but others are still too long from other shops. Got 2 pairs for £7 so got 2 sets and that should do him, he could do with some long sleeved t-shirts and socks soon though.
Had a lazy day yesterday and my mum came up for a visit. DS was delighted to see her.
Going to nip out for a while today as we all need to get out of the house for a bit. It's barely stopped raining all weekend.

Hi all, I now have a baby girl, 9lb 3oz born at 2am on Thursday. :j Feel free to skip the birth story below if you wish.
I went into hospital on Tuesday night to start the induction process. Spent all day Wednesday with nothing much happening and had 3 pessaries with no result.Dr gave me a sweep whilst examining me but I was told I would probably need another pessary after a 24hr rest and then if they still couldn't break my waters, I could try another 24 hour rest before starting the process all over again. They needed to break my waters before putting me on the hormone drip so that wasn't even an option at that point.
Two hours after the sweep I woke up in pain and leaking waters whenever I moved. Waited 20 mins or so as wasn't sure if it was my waters (had to get them broken with DS) and then got the night shift midwife. She examined me and said I was 3cm dilated and went to phone the labour ward.
The pain ramped up very quickly after that and by the time they were ready to take me downstairs (about 40 mins later) I was really struggling. The midwife took one look at me and was like we're going downstairs NOW. They practically ran the bed down the corridor to the lift and I just screamed. _pale_ They were trying to get me to breathe the pain away but I had just lost it by that point and could feel the baby's head coming when I was still in the lift!
They ran me into the labour suite with the head on the way out and I was in there 5/10 mins before the baby was born. I finally got some gas and air at that point and it was the only way I managed to cope. Going from 3cm to fully dilated in less than an hour was horrendous. It was so quick that my poor DH missed the birth.
I was lucky that I only got a small second degree tear so a lot less stitches than last time with the episiotomy. Still wasn't fun being sewn up though.
Got home on Friday evening so out pretty quick too. Was missing DS and DH said he was crying at night asking for muma to come back.:(, poor DS has been pretty confused. He is quite interested in his new sister and has been smiling at her but his routine is a mess and he's been pretty unsettled.
My poor boy.
We're trying to adjust now to life as a family of four and obviously I'm physically still a bit of a wreck. Need to get the chiropractor to sort out my pelvis soon as it's really sore again, I have no core muscles and my stitches are stingy. Have spent most of today napping on and off as must have seen every hour from 1am-8am this morning between DS & baby DD. Luckily DH is off work for another week so he is getting up too.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.
