In the market for a king size bed and mattress - advise please :-)

We have been looking on and off for the past year for a king size bed but it's a nightmare... we see something we think we like in one store and then go elsewhere and find something different.
Currently we have a Slumberland Memory Foam 800 spring purchased from Bensons 12 years ago so it's time to change it even though it is still very comfortable!!
We have decided that this month we will definitely be getting a new bed...
This one looks like a good price and specwise sounds similar to what we currently have but there isn't much info on the website.

Does anyone have this one? And also any brands / stores we should avoid?

Hmm... what it is... is a bit of a mystery.
What do we know? It has 1050 pocket springs. It has memory foam.
From looking at it I can see it is quilted (odd for a memory foam topped mattress) and looks to be damask or silk but really who knows if it doesn't say? It has handles. No vents. And no rows of side stitching.
If you want to save a few bob you could get what seems to be slightly better but cheaper:
Just Google "Silentnight Moscow Memory 1200 2 Drawer Divan" and it seems to be £699 ish from everywhere.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. The lack of info was my main concern... We have decided to have a look at some local independent stores this weekend rather than browsing online0

I have had to change my bed several times in the last few years. Mostly as I have problems with my back and shoulder which are not getting better. Degenerative.
So far and although it is much more expensive, depending upon supplier possibly another £500 I would forget memory foam, or pocket and instead go for water bed.
OK I know I was the same someone suggested it to me and all I could think of was 1970 low budget naught films and leopard skin??? ha ha
But as I had promised I would try one I did. OMG amazing. Totally different than the sea sick vision I had. It will not change your life but it will make sure that you get the best nights sleep you can.
Worth a try at least?Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
Bought single mattress Sleeperzee naturelle 1200 few months ago for a 14st teenager who says it is so comfortable. The mattress is turnable, has cotton filling, heavy to turn, looks like a quality mattress.
Beware of no turn mattresses they are just a cheeper option for the manufacturer.
We had to wait a few weeks for delivery because this is not a standard mattress but it does state that on the Web page.
Bought from mattressman who is that much cheeper than many others. Service was excellent, delivery is all day no half day or one hour window.
If you find one you like in a local store see if the above has it cheeper0 -
The m&s one is no longer an option as the lack of info has put me off and we have been and tested a lot of beds last weekend and we like the idea of latex or latex topped rather than memory foam as they are cooler and hopefully last longer.
We are looking for
- a king size bed with a divan continental (2+2) drawer config
- we like the latex beds we have tested however unsure as to what latex is in them and if they are actually proper latex layered or not... we like the cooling properties and the comfort of the latex
- we like a medium feel to the mattress and would like pocket sprung as want to feel the other moving as little as possible in the night
the mattresses so far that we have liked are
- Hestia Latex 2150
- Myers Comfort Classic Latex 1800
- Sealy Napoli 1200 (almost purchased these but reviews of the latex topper being poor quality as put us off)
Any one have the ones listed and can advise? Also any other ones to consider based on what we are after?0 -
What happened to Pinkypants?0

I have seen PinkyPants post on a lot of other threads dated a while back and the info given has been valuable. I was hoping for some input on here from the mattress guru0
