No I never withdrew it, I never confirmed whether I was going to work it. I said I probably would work it but I never gave a yes or no answer and no rotas were created for those weeks.

Not relevant if you resigned to terminate employment before you were due to take them.

No she meant the two weeks that I had booked I could still take as holiday if I get offered the job, I wouldn't need to work it.

I never officially resigned I said I want to still take my 2 weeks holiday as planned since April last year as that would take me up to the 21st so the week we all leave.

    you could try.

Wait and see if they put you on official notice tomorrow/this week.
If within 3 weeks of the termination date hand in counter notice to finish last day of the holiday claiming all the stuff so far was just speculative inquiries as part of consultation.

problem is they know you have a job and want to start 9th and still don't have to pay redundancy they may know that.
(it has come up a few times there is some law that covers it but no one has ever pointed to it)

the general rule when redundancy is on the cards keep you job hunting very private and avoid telling anyone till you have to, unless you know your company is flexible try to make any start date after termination and in some cases no official offer either.
