Here's a suggestion that is effective:
Model 1.0 eyeball observe speed limit signs and read the Highway code.
Moderate the weight of your right foot and don't speed.
You won't get booked if you don't speed. Simples...0 -
It detects them, but if it detected it then it got you?
Far too late to bother slowing down.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Strictly speaking they have to take a couple of measurements to make sure there is jo error, so in theory if you were quick you might have time to react, however in reality they want to make as much cash as possible and there have been many cases of false readings being used to prosecute drivers.
Basically, just stick to the limits.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I bought a Cobra radar/laser detector in the US and have experimented with it here and I was surprised at the range it detected laser emissions.
The drawback is the laser is only fired when a speeding target is observed by the operator so you need to have a speeding car in front of you to draw hostile fire.0 -
I had a Snooper but it was always going off by false alarm. It picked up signals from all over the place, I believe even supermarket doors set them off. The GPS based systems are much better.0

It takes less than half a second for a LASER based device to detect your speed, by the the time you could react it would be far too late to do anything. The only time it might help if it detected stray light off another vehicle, but I wouldn't want to rely on that possibility.0

Do you mean the Road Angel?
Yes it does work, as others have mentioned they don't help you evade the speed tickets.0 -
I bought one in the States. It's great for detecting traffic lights. Shame it's not much good for anything else.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0

No I haven't and yes, it probably can.
But what part of "by the time it detects them it's too late" don't you understand?0
