Thanks everyone!
KittenKirst - it's adorable, I'm so fond of it. I was slightly tempted to go back and get a few more, have my own collection of reindeer planters.
Christmas tree has been successfully planted back into the garden, pruned a few branches from the bottom so the rain can get to it. Also picked up some wrapping paper at 50p/roll on the way to work yesterday. Some is obviously Christmassy, but some isn't which is lovely.
Had 2 hours of tuition last night and a student has come out of the woodwork for 2 more hours on Sunday, which is a good start to the year.
Updated EDF with our meter readings this morning and our actual reading for today was less than their estimated reading from the beginning of December. So we have no electricity bill this month and it has wiped most of our gas bill too. Only paying £14 for gas/electricity in December which was perfect for this month.
Mortgage day yesterday, the only overpayments I'm making for the next couple of months while we finish repairs, is rounding to the nearest whole number. Which this month was.... £1.32. :rotfl:

A herd works.
Sadly, no more were left in Asda when we went this morning (OH didn't seem as disappointed as I was hoping for).
Tomorrow's student has asked for three hours, which is a nice surprise.
Been a slightly expensive day - paid the CC bill, my tax bill for 2016-17, the (nice and small) gas/electric bill. So at least my to do list is clearing. Also, exploited the Hotel Chocolat 50% off sale. OH loves their stuff, has a birthday in a few weeks, and doesn't mind if birthday comes in a Christmas theme. Plus it's currently on 10% cashback on TCB so it's down to 45% of the original price so I don't mind buying some.
Got a meeting at a university on Monday, while it's not an interview, this may actually be more important so now curled up with the cat on the sofa and some journals to revise from. Got to look perfectly professional, dedicated and very smart. No pressure!
