  • That's a great saving Cumbrialass.

In all my 18 years of driving I have never paid upfront for my car insurance but last year I decided that I would start so alongside paying my insurance last year I also saved £30 per month in a savings pot so that has covered my insurance for the coming year.

I will do the same this year only I wont have to pay monthly as well!! Win, win all round!!!

Money for insurance gone out of account today , plus breakdown cover. EF now at £817.73 , have decided to put insurance money and phone insurance into savings rather than pay off debt . I am on target for clearing cc's before 0% finishes.

Posted eBay parcels so will use the extra money for cc payment , have some PA money as well to clear .

Result re the insurance and cashback, 30 quid cashback and a saving on the insurance is an awesome result.

Was a very naughty grandma yesterday and forgot our lunch for day out ! Baby had hers I remembered that and drinks ! It cost me £10 in the cafe for DGS and myself. Then I went mad and had a pedicure and usual waxing but did get 10% off £41.40 so I have £9.60 left in my spends account and £10 in my purse . I am going to have to use money from elsewhere , as going to be over budget on the spends and petrol as well . Have another day out planned on Monday and will need to buy lunch for myself and DGS . All sent to try will be staying in rest of month unless use pa money on going out instead of overpayments !

I have gone very off track with the spending and am in a mess. Family commitments meant that I have been spending more on rubbish things. No excuses but am going to be over spends budget massively. I still have things that I would like to do but unless I can find the money they may not happen. At worst will have to use some savings.
The £10 I had in my purse has gone on entrance to soft play area, lunch and drinks whilst out again. Exorbitant prices charged , lets not go there because I paid them.

Shopping yesterday was £16.93 but need a bit of salad for work Wednesday and Thursday am on leave till then.

Petrol £34.22 but will probably need more before pay day in 2 weeks.

Am back at aqua fit tonight have definitely put on weight in the last 6 months , need to shift it again.

  • We end up spending a small fortune taking our DGD out too Cumbria Lass. Not so much entrance fees as she is not yet 2 so often goes free but we have to pay entrance fees for us and then lunches/drinks out etc. It all adds up.

Our daughter and son in law are more frugal. They found a lovely country park with a massive play area, walks around the lake and lots of green space which was all free to visit. We took a picnic for all of us and beyond paying for ice creams had a lovely day out last weekend when the sun was shining.

To be fair to grandchildren they don't ask for anything , well one can't speak yet lol . I have been slightly disorganised with things as we have lots of things happening at their home , building work and I have not been prepared for the days I have had them. Dreading Thursday DGS starts school nursery full time and I will have DGD now one day a week

Another spend day , only on salad stuff for work and teabags . Hoping for a NSD tomorrow.

Just accepting that I may have to dip into EF to end the month .
