The charity shop volunteering was really enjoyable , not as simple as it all looks . I learnt quite a bit how they operate turning the shop around on a weekly basis. I came home with some brand new curtains for my 2nd bedroom for £5 minus 20% discount for staff. I have washed them and hope to put them up tomorrow. I also got a new top for work £1.50 .
Did my shopping at Mr A on the way back £17.81 , I forgot a couple of things but they can wait for next weeks list. My housework is done , tomorrow hoping for a lie in and relaxing day. Just ironing to do and weekly money check.

The volunteering sounds really interesting. There's definitely more to it than meets the eye. I remember Mary Portas did a series a couple of years ago where she helped to get a flagging charity shop back on its feet. The thing that appalled me was the condition of the clothes that some people donated. Really icky and disgusting. Your bargains were really good though - can't go wrong with a top for £1.50! Plus brand new curtains as well!:j

Today has been a day full of stress, anxiety and happiness all rolled into one. Some of you may remember that I applied for a job pretty much doing what I do now with a couple of extra bits in it , with the same employer. The crux of getting the job was that the salary was higher . Well today was interview day, the bad thing was I had left all my notes at work. I had booked the day of so didn't get to work until my interview time. I had to do an assessment first and then the interview. Nobody likes interviews , I loathe them. My mouth was so dry. Anyway I survived it , drove home and got the bus to town to meet my friend for lunch. On the way home on the bus I got the phone call to say I had got the job.:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:
To say I am delighted is an understatement, the worry and stress has all been worth it. I am hoping it is the last interview I ever have to do before I retire.
I intend working out how much extra a month I will get later this evening , not much more to start with but my salary will increase for the next couple of years . :TThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
