The RBS closures are a nightmare - the island of Barra in the Outer Hebrides is having their branch closed - which as it is the only bank on the Island is more than a bit of a problem for islanders. The on-paper distance to the next branch is about 10 miles I think, but that includes a ferry journey! (And RBS are reducing the opening hours there to a ludicrous level, too!)

Have a wonderful weekend away, Cumbria!

I don't think banks think about people who are rural or people who are older. I worked in banking for 27 years and am glad I left when I did.

EH I bet you can't wait to get back to the Hebrides .

My local RBS is closing too. Guess you've seen about it Cumbria.

Hope you've had a good day

WF , the town seems to be losing five altogether, which is a shame for the community they serve.

HH I sit on the customer excellence panel for a local housing association. Being the voice of the tenants , and trying to get the right services , decent homes etc for all . It's very interesting in a geeky sort of way, but can be rewarding as well.

I also visit an older lady as part of a befriending service connected to a local church. I like that a lot.
