Hi Cumbria,
Hope you have a lovely time in the Lakes. One of my favourite places!Aiming to early retire December 31st 2026.0 -
Hope you're up here safe and sound. Been gloriously sunny but that icy wind has started up again, and there's a promise (oh joy) of snow before the end of Monday - would it be terrible if you got stuck up here?LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300

Joeyjimbles I had a brilliant time, the weather was kind to me . Travelled back late last night.
I always feel sad when I leave the fells and lakes behind , it's where my heart stays. Some of the happiest memories I have over the past 7 years have been associated with Cumbria. I am so lucky to live so close.
Of course the place I stay with my friend was rammed as ever , all those tourists how dare they hehe. I did find my favourite resting place up a hill of course has had loads of trees felled so can now see the length of the lake.
Was made to feel very welcome and had a lovely Sunday lunch out with a group of 20 people . Walked a few miles breathed in the fresh air.
Woke up with headache today lol.
On the spending front £20 extra in petrol.
£6.90 on drinks
£6.99 on a new butter dish from that very good Lakeland retailer.
This week I am in work only tomorrow, then off with DGS for school holidays . We are doing a train ride and interactive place on Wednesday , quite near to Beatle town.
Thursday we are going swimming in the big pool in the nearby city.
Lunch will be provided on both days from grandmas kitchen .
On Friday I have both DGC , not sure what we will do then.
Today I am staying at home and resting , apart from the ironing pile .This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Sounds like a lovely holiday. I have only been to that part of the world once and briefly and it was so beautiful it took my breath away. I love walking in beautiful places and I am seriously considering The Ramblers so I can do it occasionally as my friends are not into walking.
You are clearly better now.
Enjoy the rest of your breakIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them
