Not going to lie, its only 16:40pm on day 1 and I am already struggling with eating. So much chocolate/cake/icecream/xmas crisps etc This house is literally the sweet/fat aisle of a supermarket.
Doesn't help my son and husband are not dieting with me, so will be watching them eat tasty treats without me. Grrrrrr
Keeping a diary of my food will hopefully keep me going seeing how well I have done over the course of the day.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
I'd like to join you ladies please. I have definitely let myself my go and want to go from frump to fab in 2017. I will start wearing perfume every day I leave the house. Oh, and not leaving the house without make-up. It doesn't have to be much to start, just tinted lip balm and a flick of mascara would be a start. Going to get my groove back in 2017If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I am new to the forum and have come across this thread, I have loved reading the posts so
far and will try and heed the tips.
I also seemed to have let myself go and need to loose some weight (3 stone) but first will start wearing perfume each day and a little make up. Baby steps to a new me.
I aim to do dry January and walk a little each day.
I might not post everyday but will read the thread and keep you posted with my progress.
Take care xx0 -
Lippy....it's up to you of course but I often think New Years day is not the best time to launch into a diet.
Don't go cold turkey.......too much of a shock to the system. Take it gently.
Talking of shock - I think I'm experiencing delayed shock.
Well I feel terrible. Can't stop shaking and shivering and my skin actually hurts......... Not even the sight of Colin Firth as Mr Darcey striding through the grounds of Chatsworth (aka Pemberley) in a see through dripping wet shirt is helping.
I must be very ill. :rotfl:
Cooked a lovely roast dinner - couldn't even look at it.
I am sure I will feel better tomorrow.0 -
I lurked mainly on the thread last year and feel i need to refind my mojo as i am now officially middle aged, fat and bodering on frumpy so ned to get a grip. I need to go back to basics this year - cutting out processed foods, walking more and spend less time sitting on the sofa.
I really need to make grooming a habit and use up my mountains of productss. I always wear make up and take care of my skin on my face but have been in denial about everything else. Its time to make small changes for maximum impact.
happy new year to everyone and may your fabbing goals be achieved. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
LL could you be having a reaction to the antibiotics? I do hope you feel better soon.
A big welcome to all the newcomers:)
I've enjoyed reading all of today's posts. Totally agree with you Indie - I think we could probably all do with being nicer to ourselves at times.
Sugar, your positivity, and joie de vivre , as always, brought a smile to my face:)
Chanie good for you to start putting plans in place straight away:)
My house is also still full of goodies, Lippy and I intend to leave them to everyone else in the house from tomorrow- I always find I'm still slightly in "holiday" mode on New Years Day, although I've started dry January already - didn't fancy a drink last night so started a day early:D0 -
Hello all and Happy New Year!
I've lurked on this thread for a little while and would love to join you for the new year. I definitely need some fabbing in my life as I have let myself go since having children (DD 4 and DS nearly 2). I need to loose about 100llbs and I have started along the long road today. I did some healthy cooking and have prepared healthy snacks for the week. I have a lot of lovely clothes from when I was slimmer so I'm going to sort them out and dedicate a part of my wardrobe to them so that they (hopefully) motivate me.
Wearing perfume everyday is a great tip. My signature scent is is 'Allure' by Chanel and I havn't have any for a long while but I recieved some from my DH for xmas. I've only worn it once since (on my birthday!) as I was saving it for best but I think I will wear it more often!
I also want to start wearing make up more often. I currently don't bother with it very much but I feel much better when I do. My first aim will be to wear it to work. I only work 2 days a eek atm so hopefully it will be manageable, although wranglling with the kiddies and getting them to the childminder on time is always a challenge...

Yes I think the nausea is down to the antibiotics. I'll have to check for a skin rash. But you really are supposed to finish the course. Only 3 more doses to go.0

I need to get back on the wagon as well. My dad died at the end of November, and as a result I've missed a lot of pilates and got out of the habit of running. I have worn more make-up though - I had to wear 'normal' rather than 'work' make-up for the funeral and all the socialising/meetings that went on while he was ill and after he died.
I'm in desperate need of some time alone to recuperate and recharge my batteries, while also trying to keep in touch with my mum (4 hours' drive away) and visit her every so often - she finds nights and mornings hardest. I've also got her paperwork to sort out, although I'm hoping the solicitors will do most of what's necessary - sod the cost I don't have the time.
I've got myself a sugar detox pack, but am being sensible and waiting until I feel rather better before attempting it. Besides which, I have chocolate puddings in the fridge that need eating, and I'm not going to binge eat them or rush into it or throw them away. I'm going to enjoy them over the next few weeks.
Indie - I've been looking for walking/yoga/pilates type holidays, and I know you've done some of these things, so do you have any recommendations? I'm put off a lot of them as they either involve long flights (I get enough of those with work, although to be fair it means my flights would be free on points) or charge silly amounts as a single person supplement.0 -
Can I join the party? I really want this year to be a year were I have more good days than bad. I have all the makeup and clothes and linen and and…. Everything because I don’-t do minimalism. But I seem to be saving it for best, I either have great clothes and hair that looks like I was dragged out of bed (and some mornings I most likely was). I wasn’t to look more polished with the basics daily hair in a style (lazy bun does not count), make up- to basic level everyday at least and looking after my skin daily.
I want to focus on eating well and maintaining a constant weight, return to activities that I adore, but more importantly make my life not just about a job and the next contract. I have learned some very hard lessons and want to rebalance my life.0
