Glad you finally got time off from job 2. No break for 2 years sounds extreme - I know you get the rolled up holiday pay but still!
Glad your energy bill has come down. That's a hefty reduction.
Glad you got some time out just to rest and explore.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Cherryfudge - we didn’t see any dormice sadly, but was a good trail from a Science and English point of view!Payday was on Tuesday and I had an extra £300. Not sure of the whys and how’s as we have recently changed to an electronic payslip system which I have yet to figure out how to access. Nonetheless I am thankful to have had an increase this month and have put it aside to pay for new bathroom furniture which had to be updated after the bad leak about 3 years ago.
Today I’ve had an unexpected working from home day which has been lovely. The time saved in not travelling has given me chance to get out for a walk this afternoon, which counts as the height of luxury for me!!
The mortgage has gone out and I’m still absolutely thrilled to see the figures coming down each month. I started off with the opening balance of just over £148000 and it’s now down to £145886. Hoping by the new year it’ll be below £145000.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you Lucille, Cherryfudge, Dawnybabes and SH.I am so thankful that the mortgage got sorted and went through. I love the way I can go on the banking app and know to the penny where I am with the mortgage.
Today I’m at home but not due to storms or working from home. I’ve felt grotty all week and have completed 2 weeks of 4 shifts a week at Job 2 which had left me feeling quite exhausted. Haven’t been able to get warm
all week so did a Covid test and it’s positive. It was only on hearing that a colleague at Job 2 had tested positive that made me think I’d better h check. I’d put the symptoms down to too many shifts and getting wet through at an outdoor learning course at the beginning of the week. Ah well, an enforced rest, while not ideal, is clearly what my body needs.
DD3 thankfully had a day off today so has been out to get honey, lemon and garlic to try and ease symptoms and get rid of it asap.DD1 had some bad news at the beginning of the week. It was wonderful and heart warming to see DD2, DD3 and DD4 rally round and support her. Youngest DD would have too, had she not been at school. Seeing them do that and knowing that they will be there for each other in life was just wonderful.Going forward, I said to SO that I couldn’t do 4 shifts a week in term time as there is no chance to rest. He is supportive ( would be happy for me to not work at Job 2 at all but I feel I need to at the moment. ) I don’t get any tax credits anymore which is at it should be but it does mean that my income hasn’t changed and I need to cover childcare costs from my wages rather than the TCs as I had previously.Might use the enforced rest to think through Christmas and managing the cost of that!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Sorry to hear you're poorly but as you say. you must have needed the rest. Get yourself fully well before you try to go back!
Your daughters reminded me of 'Little Women'.It's reassuring they look out for each other, I think they must have seen it in you and learned by example.

Thank you Cherryfudge and Lucielle,
I woke up today feeling a bit more energetic than yesterday, so got up and showered and did some work on the laptop for Job 1. Got to mid afternoon and felt wiped out so have retreated back to bed to rest and warm up.
The last few weeks and weekends have been full on so although I’m not pleased about having Covid, I am thankful for the opportunity to rest.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
