I hope you can get some progress with the mortgage. When I last re-mortgaged they wouldn't believe I don't have any commuting expenses (I walk to and from work) and insisted on putting an estimated figure for bus fares down which was annoying as I never get the bus!
So sorry to hear about your friend. Also sorry to hear about DS1 he could've at least popped in, I bet he will when he wants something. And added to the mix the tax credits 😒
I'm still waiting for my gas/electric direct debit amounts to land. I have one more month of the lower amount and am still in credit. There will be some serious budget pot shuffling once the higher amount kicks in as will be the case for many others I'm sure.

I'm very sorry to hear about your friend.
It's lovely that DD1 was home for Mother's Day even though DS1 wasn't. I think my children are getting better at it as they get older so perhaps in a year or so he will make time and effort for you as you've always done for him.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Glad to have got to the weekend...it’s busy at Job 1 and have a madly busy week next week with double the number of shifts at Job 2.
Payday was on Thursday. I had hoped to make bigger debt repayments but will have to go with usual repayments as need to stretch pay to cover more.
