Thank you Spendless, MeandO, Cherryfudge, SH & Janb5.
Cherryfudge - the loaf title is a little misleading because it’s like a fruit loaf, but here is the recipe.
8 oz self raising flour
4 oz butter
3oz sugar
4 oz marzipan cut into small cubes
2 eggs
7 oz mincemeat.
Rub the butter into the flour until it looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and the marzipan cubes. Beat the eggs together and add to the dry ingredients along with the mincemeat. Mix together and spoon into a loaf tin. Bake at 160c / Gas Mark 4 for 50-60 minutes. Warning, it is very moreish!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Thank you SH, Parkyp, MeandO, Cherryfudge, CCL & SA. Glad the photos were cheering. Someone wrote locally that they ( eg the government) can’t stop or lockdown Spring.
I have felt so happy today. I don’t think I’d realised how much the writing of the emails yesterday had been a weight on me for the last few weeks. I’d been so worried about wording them correctly etc but knowing the form is now with the solicitor is such a relief.
We did get out for a walk today briefly. We had just got about 10 minutes into the walk when there was a downpour and we got soaked. DD4 isn’t the most enthusiastic walker at the best of times so we turned round and came home. DD2 & DD3 had gone on a different walk and had decided to go and explore some public footpaths they didn’t know. Despite getting temporarily lost, they enjoyed their walk. I was so pleased they have that urge to explore the myriads of public footpaths😁.
I got the walls of my bedroom painted today and they look much better. Most of it was a second coat, so just some extra filling, sanding and painting of the window areas to do.
I had such a weird moment today. At one point, DD1 & DS1 came to chat to me at the same time. One wanted to know how she could save using premium bonds and we had a discussion about interest rates not being very high for savings accounts and at least you could get the money out if you needed to and may even win a prize. On the other hand was DS1 telling me he’d seen a car he’d like to buy and could I help him contact the bank about a loan. That led to an interesting discussion on PCPs and balloon payments v straight loan repayments, all of which was immaterial as his banking app said no. I was very relieved at that as I don’t want him getting into debt. I know that some debt can be good debt like student loans that enable you to do a course or a mortgage because it’s helping you to buy a home but this wasn’t something essential. Very bizarre though literally talking savings and loans at the same time.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.
