'deceived to cut the tree' sounds about the right Freudian slip (guessing you thought you'd written decided?) and that's from me who always has an incorrect word in their posts - lol If it was chance you were out it sounds opportunist rather than calculated. I've often thought he doesn't seem to 'get' why some things aren't acceptable now you're no longer a couple.
HM pizzas are a great option. When DS fetched his 2 housemates back here last summer and they cleared me out of food from a grocery shop only the previous day, that's what I went to to keep them filled. I cheated though and bought bases.
Hope the cheque turns up shortly.5 -
😊 yes I meant to write decided! I don’t think he understands the ramifications of separation. Every week, he frustrates me as he comes to see the children and cook a meal for them but takes it into his head to bin what he wants. Last week I rescued a bag of potatoes and a celeriac that I’d recently bought and were absolutely fine. I wouldn’t dream of binning anything that didn’t belong to me!paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Disrupted sleep last night means I’m feeling pretty knackered today. The weather here is cold, wet and windy. DD3 has proposed a fluffy blanket, film time / curl up with a good book afternoon and I am not going to argue with that! Sounds a luxurious afternoon!
I have decided to set myself a savings goal. I know it might seem a bit backward when I’m still clearing debts but I’m very conscious that if I hadn’t had the small pots of savings in December I would have ended up deeper in debt, trying to pay the large garage bill. Those savings saved the day as it were! So I’m going to aim to save £1k by completing the 365 savings challenge and adding in £30 each month from the recent pay rise.

Thank you SH.
Well today has been busy. I was up at 5.30 to take DD1 to work but DD2 offered to do the trip as her car was blocking mine and as she would have had to move it anyway, she kindly volunteered to do the whole journey. I got started early and sorted out and wiped out the baking cupboard. I hadn’t realised quite how much mincemeat I had, so will have to make a mincemeat loaf or 2 soon! We’ve got quite a bit of marmalade too, but having just made this year’s batch, I know it will be going down in the next few months.
I got more painting done before getting out for a walk with a colleague from job no 2. I hadn’t seen her for quite some time so it was good to have a walk and a catch up. She also likes to spot things in the hedgerows. Today we saw a couple of holly bushes covered in berries and a carpet of crocuses.
On my return, I was surprised to get an email from the solicitor which showed that somehow a letter from them sent in mid December didn’t reach me 🤔. The letter gave me the impetus to write a couple of necessary emails that I had been very anxious about writing. Anyway by the end of the day I had the vital form arrive so I can proceed ahead with the next step.
Seed sowing continued today - I got some sweet peas sown ( Painted lady & Black Knight) and some Verbena Bonariensis. There was a young honeysuckle plant that got potted up as well.
Tea was homemade lasagne followed by flapjacks. Now feeling quite tired from the early start!
Edited to add, I rang to check the balance on the first window loan and it is down to £88.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Mincemeat loaf sounds nice. I found 6 frozen mince pies in M & S today for 25p and was thrilled with them, but yours sounds better.6 -

Well done on getting those emails done. I find things like that are great incentives to absolutely every other job first, so I'm sending you a virtual pat on the back for womaning-up and getting them out of the way.
Great about the first window loan, too. That'll soon be gone now.
May I ask, what do you do with your mincemeat loaf? I have extra mincemeat too... is it an ordinary bread recipe with added mincemeat, or something more complicated (as I typed that I started to imagine mincemeat brioche but I've no idea how that would work).I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
