I'm glad your DS is helping out and your DD. I am sure they will remember what you taught them later in life and be grateful. I noticed that allotments were specifically okayed in the lockdown arrangements.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I’ve not been quite as focussed today...not sure why. Possibly the vast number of brambles that have been chopped back have made us feel a bit tired today! After some work tasks, I went to the allotment and cleared out the second greenhouse. Sneaky brambles were trying to grow surreptitiously behind the bench, but I soon had them out! More space has been gained to house the tomato seedlings as they get bigger.
Tuna plait for tea, no complaints about having it last week, all were keen to have it tonight. Coffee cake with custard for pudding which has hopefully filled everyone up!
This time of lockdown is certainly helping to remind me of the joys of simple pleasures. I’m enjoying listening to the blackbirds in the garden, the welcome warmth of the sunshine and not having mad rushed mornings.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I'm not known for being the most observant of people if it's not science, but even I have noticed the birdsong now that it's a bit quieter and spring is here. Thank goodness nature isn't aware of the general human misery at the moment. Not giving up

Yesterday I saw a plane going over my house and it was like ooh there's a plane 🤣 Feel envious of my cat and dog right now, not a care in the world as long as they're getting fed. All us working from home people won't want to go back.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)6

Hey Honeysuckle, I lost you for a while. very impressed to read of all your shenanigans, I am going to start growing things next week. Am making a schedule as I clearly can't cope without a time table!!Nevertheless she persisted.5

Today I’ve spent quite a chunk of time on work tasks, which actually felt good to get it done and helped to feel that we are supporting parents as much as possible. My second seed order came today, I was so thrilled to see the postman with the package! The cape gooseberries were promptly sown followed by Romanesque, a type of cauliflower. I’ve never been successful with brassicas so will be reading up carefully to maximise the chances of a decent crop.
At the allotment today, I was able to rake up the brambles that we’d hacked down and turn over a raised bed to get rid of the perennial weeds that were lurking. Lots of preparation to do before any plants get into the ground. It is just amazing seeing what we’ve been able to do this week...the allotment hasn’t looked this good in years 🤣.
I think my food budget will be blown at the moment. I’m trying to be very careful with everything we have and the children have been good at not pestering for lots of food. I’m going to have to base meal plans around what we can buy rather than planning meals before I shop. Tonight I’m thankful that the children were happy with macaroni cheese 🙂, that the allotment is looking so much better and for dry washing on the line.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 .
