Still not getting much sleep
. I seem to have got into a bad pattern of sleeping for 3 hours, then I'm wide awake and it takes at least 2 or 3 hours to get back to sleep, which by then only gives me about an hour before the alarm goes off.
Yesterday was an early start as so sat with DS1 so he could practice his driving. I spent a fair amount of the day at work before coming home to the usual washing and cleaning up. I'm so thankful, my friend is having a new kitchen and was getting rid of her dishwasher in readiness...and gave it to me. It's amazing how much time it will save me. I've been handwashing everything. Last night was blissful to load it all and push the button :T.
I finally got round to making some Seville orange marmalade. I bought some from the veg box supplier, having tried to find some in Mr T's without success. It took a little while but the smell was delicious...filled the kitchen with a citrusy aroma.
Still need to pot on the tomatoes, so hoping I can find a spare few minutes somewhere.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Managed to sleep until 4am...a definite improvement! Although I was later to bed so probably the same in terms of actual hours sleep.
It was a fairly busy day yesterday. I made a lemon drizzle cake, batch of chocolate muffins and a batch of brownies. The chocolate items were decimated yesterday so will need to make more at some point today.
Sunday was NSD #5 for this month.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

I'm sorry you're having such trouble sleeping. I'm okay once I get to sleep but I've been known to lie awake for a few hours before getting there so I do feel for you. Getting up, making toast and reading for a while usually helps me but of course that also takes up sleeping time. Perhaps last night's is the start of better things for you.
We too were once gifted a dishwasher and we've never looked back! Enjoy your 'new toy' - it comes to the fore at Christmas.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Thank you Cherryfudge, Abba & CCL.
I do tend to read as my first option with sleeplessness ( and a cup of tea!). I don't tend to drink coffee or alcohol so no stimulants in my system.
No, not tried the Headspace app but will go and investigate, thank you. I've been referred to occupational health today so am waiting to see what transpires there. Not sure they can do anything as I just have a lot to juggle and that is the reality of life!
DD2 had an interview today for a different p/t job. She has a second interview in a couple of weeks so that seems positive.

So thankful to have got through another working week. Today I had my day off and spent some of it with my mum. We went to my grandmother's house and to completely sidetracked in looking through photos. I know my grandfather enjoyed a spot of photography but I hadn't realised how many photos he'd taken! This was before digital cameras so all the photos are printed. He's left us this amazing pictoral history. I don't think I'd appreciated before how much he had enjoyed capturing moments and watching his great grandchildren grow up. The photos were lovely to find but I do miss him and my grandmother.
Money wise, I've paid off £175 from the school trip bill. DD3's is fully paid for and only £200 to go on DD4's. Getting there slowly. I had hoped to get some Euros sorted but the bank doesn't stock them. I've always bought them over the counter before, but will have to try again next week at a post office.
I'm a bit frustrated by how much money has gone on food. I seem to have needed to top up which is dangerous since more can slip into the basket that way. I have shopped this evening for the weekend, so have a menu plan firmly in mind. Tonight was kale hash, so Sunday will be chicken cobbler, 2 hearty meals.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . I've been finding old family photos too and I love it. Sometimes it makes you ask completely unanswerable questions, though - who is that girl in the photo, what on earth was that expression about, I wonder what happened to such and such? I love the way it brings the past right into the present.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

Really busy day yesterday (Sat). As well as the usual laundry / cleaning jobs, I went into work and got a few bits done there. DD2 wanted to tackle another chunk of the coast path so all the DDs, DS3 and I walked another little section. It's always breathtakingly beautiful, even on cloudy days. We got so far and then came across some cows grazing right on the cliffs. Since we had also brought mad puppy no. 2, who seems to think it's her life mission to bark at anything that moves, we decided it would probably be best retracing our steps. If she wasn't with us, or so inclined to bark, we'd have continued. The Younger DDs enjoyed some time at a small cove near the car park, picking up colourful shells. I was pleasantly surprised by how far DS3 walked...he did well!
I got stuck into housework on our return and started to rearrange beds and rooms. It was one if those jobs that once you start you have to plough on through. 3 bags of decluttering left the house though and there'll be more to follow today. Need to get some work done too, ready for the coming week.
