Every now & then we get a message on our TV saying the sky box is going to go in to standby mode while we're watching TV.
Just wondering how we go about stopping that because i don't remember my mother's Sky box throwing up that message.

Press the Services button on your Sky remote.
Press 5 for Sky+ Setup.
Push up twice to highlight Auto Standby.
Push left (or right) once to change ON to OFF.
Push down once to highlight Save New Settings and press Select.
Push the Sky button to return to whatever you were watching.

Google is your friend.
I pressed Services
I pressed 5 ... nothing happened.
I've tried looking for an auto standby but found nothing. Not to say it isn't there, it has to be, i must've missed it.
Unless the guide you found was from before they updated their whole menu setup?0 -

That is possible, I can't get the remote off the wife at the moment to check but it should be in there somewhere.0 -
Hi,
that link is from Feb 2011, so things may have changed.
Is this a new Sky box you've got?0 -
Regards that Eco mode. I've taken a look.
So let's say i'm watching a program in the morning. It's 10am (random time selected there). I'm done with it & don't watch TV again that day.
Does that mean the Sky box wont go in to standby mode until some time in the early hours of the following morning? So it'll be 'on' for 14-16 hours plus?
I don't know how long it takes at the moment, but i know at least on my mothers once she's finished watching a programe & she turns the TV off, the Sky box will put itself on standby after a while & not the early hours (& doesn't give her warnings in the middle of programs either).
If it's possible, i obviously don't want warnings in the middle of programs but i don't want it to be 'on' for most of the day either.[Deleted User] wrote:Hi,

The options are explained here, see number 5 in the left column:

Yes, I didn't check the date, apologies
Although at least I now know what the Eco Mode does as previously I've just ignored it. Rebooting the box every morning won't do any harm.0 -
Who was the one who posted about the Eco mode & why has their post disappeared?0

I think I got most of my information from the link in post #7.
EDIT: It certainly works as the Sky box is on channel 998 'Sky Intro' this morning.0 -

It should return to the channel you left when you last switched off unless there is a software upgrade.
If your box continues to default to channel 998 each morning, then you need to investigate why, as it might well indicate a fault.JustAnotherSaver wrote:Does that mean the Sky box wont go in to standby mode until some time in the early hours of the following morning?
