A last minute snap decision to go to the tip was made when mum came back from the shops.
We took the rolls of bags I mentioned in my previous post, an old, broken pressure cooker(this went in the metals container at the tip), the last 3 bags for the charity shop(all clothes so went into the textiles container), a bin bag full of old camera bags my dad no longer wanted due to upgrades(textiles container) and the old oil filled heater I had in my room over the winter as it was broken anyway(guy at the tip said metals container so if that's wrong it's his fault! :rotfl: )
This has cleared even more room under the stairs and that general area of the house looks even better now0 -

I had kept a lock each of my dad & mum's hair since they died - 23/13 years respectively. It was just in a little box that never saw the light of day so I decided to set it free and threw it into the Thames - they lived only a stones throw from the river all of their lives so it felt fitting :A

Listing here looks a wonderful idea, I am going to join in if that's ok?! Today I have had the most productive day I have had in a long time so it feels good timing to find this thread.

Loads of recycling and rubbish to go out this week, from our efforts over the last few days.
Mum wants to use this coming bank holiday weekend to do some more thorough sorting out - going through things and getting rid of stuff(by means of either binning, donating or selling).
I'm off work for all 3 days too so I shall help her do this.
I've also accumulated a small carrier bag of items to give to the charity shop.
What I have also done is all of my cosmetics(which is a lot now! :rotfl: ), I found these 3 small metal "wire mesh" type boxes with lids at the market on Saturday so I bought them, so I've got them and a large fabric/canvas storage box I bought last year which I was going to take to the tip the other day and organised all of my cosmetics into these boxes.
I've got one small box with all my face stuff in, one small box with all my shower gels in and one small box with all my moisturisers in, then I put the small boxes inside the big box. It's taking up a lot less carpet space and very easy to pick it all up in one go if I want to move it for any reason(tidying up/hoovering etc)0 -

Sorted out the 2 drawers of the unit my mums laptop sits on for her yesterday
A lot of missing pieces of things found, some were reunited with their item and the item some of the others belonged to had been binned so the piece went into the bin also.
I think things are slowly getting there for sure now0 -
