thanks for the new thread, can I join in too?
2017 items sounds great, so this is what I will aim for, although like the rest of you, a tidy uncluttered home by next Christmas would be fab. Plenty of items to be sorted out, will start in earnest on Jan 1st. Good luck to all x

I'd like to join in. I did quite a lot of decluttering last year so not sure I have 2017 items left but I certainly have a few too many bits and bobs. I definitely need to have a look at the book shelves and I have a few drawers of rather optimistically sized clothes that really belong in the charity shop!0

Another couple of hours in the room of requirements. Ds moved shelving unit up there from office (which is next room to be decorated so needs clearing). Have loaded up shelves but dd2 says it looks no different :-( still, must be getting somewhere! Another 2 bags of rubbish gone. Also bought 4 lovely 2-basket shelves for ensuite (dunelm sale half price yippee) and now have all toiletries sorted. Best bit of Day - son opening door to room of requirements and saying with a smiley face 'what's that smell? Oh smells like childhoood'. My ex and I struggled on through years of difficult times, so this made me certain the struggle to keep some sort of 'normality' was worth it.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Tackled a couple of small but annoying areas yesterday. The drawer in my bedside cupboard and dressing table. They're both place that attract loads of bits that stash away because I don't want to deal with them. Both are now cleared and tidy. I also sorted out my accessories. I was about to head out for something to keep my hairdryer in but found a nice basket in the garage - perfect size!0

The three of us decided to tackle dd1 room yesterday. This is harder than you think as she is 14, I think she is entitled to her 'privacy' but it was at a stage where there was no floor to be seen and it has got so bad that i think she gets depressed that if she does fifteen minutes by herself it doesn't look any different. so she stuffs things in tubs to hide it!
It got to the stage where i was putting clothes/washing/ away and obvious rubbish in bin. Anything else i put in the tub on the bed for her to sit and sort through [some of it i would throw but i know she wants to keep!]We had the music on, chatting and had agreed to stop at a certain time if not already done.
As it is not 2017 yet it is not included in my challenge but it does help me start it in a positive frame of mind!Don’t put it down - put it away!

I'd like to join you all please - we just seem to have so much "stuff"! I would love a tidy, uncluttered home by Christmas 2017. I'm off to have a quick browse on last year's thread.0

I think a lot of my clutter/hoarding stems from being in debt and hanging onto things either just in case i needed them and not have the money to replace - even things that would cost 5p, buying things because they were a bargain and not letting go of things for cheap because i paid good money for it!
You have sooo hit the nail on the head......Glad its not just me !!!2017- No Clutter to be Seen Total 59/20170 -
Hello all,
In an effort to declutter and save money, I want to get rid of a storage unit I am currently renting. To this end I want to go there two or three times a week and empty it out bit by bit.
The sooner it is empty, the sooner I can stop paying for it and use that money for something else (like bills).
I am planning my first trip there on Tuesday 3rd January. (I am working over New Year).
Wish me luck

Thanks for setting up this thread Sa1sysoo!
I'm excited to be in at the beginning this year - last year I only started in June. I'm going for the full 2017 items - I've got a couple of days to myself tomorrow and Monday so I plan to make a start then.
Happy New YearShifting my energy for 20200
