going out NYE coming back 2nd is about £21 rtn on the train. The only sensible way to travel to central London. You dont say how long you are going for0

Excellent. Thank you. The area closes at 2pm due to setting up the festivities so we plan to get there early. Yes it will be my second time there and I remember the Edgware Road flyover.
Set your sat nav for Westbourne Bridge and then change it to your final destination once you leave the Westway.
That should then route you through to Bayswater Road and then the top of Hyde Park which is right near your destination.
If you do chose the M40, it is the worst road I've seen for middle lane hoggers...
If you're stuck for parking, there is plenty of free parking south of the river.
Southwark are free parking on Saturdays in P&D bays during December. There is free parking in Lambeth, the key to finding in free parking on a Saturday afternoon in Lambeth is to avoid areas around stations or theatres.0 -

Thanks very much :A0 -
Hi everyone, we're going to London For New Years. The plan was to use the M40 instead of the M6 for a short while and then straight down the M1.
This probably seems a dumb question but are the motorways as bad as like they are on Bank Holidays travelling down to London or are they not as bad?
Happy new year!
New Year's Eve or New Year's Day?0 -
Park further out and use the free tube travel offer on NYE. Somewhere like Hanger Lane maybe, if coming in on the A40?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

and don't follow the sat nav up Picadilly as Picadilly Circus is as busy as Picadilly Circus.
Go along Victoria Street which will bring you to Whitehall via Parliment Square which will avoid the traffic of Picadilly Circus and Trafalgar Square0 -
They were reporting traffic jams on the Westway and Marlebone Road due to road works on the Marlebone Road today.
It would be a good idea to check they are clear before you use the Westway (It sounded like they were only about for a day or so)0 -
Thanks for the update :xmassmile:xmassmile0

The roadworks on A501 at the Baker St junction will be there until Tuesday, apparently the traffic is very bad.
If you go the M40 route, come off at the Shepherds Bush / Westfield junction and come along the Bayswater Road.
If you come down the M1 try and avoid the Marlebone Road or cross it further east of Baker Street0 -

Yes ok so it's a right off the A40 if I recall towards Westfield then left at Shepherd's Bush station down the straight bit so Hyde pk will be on my right?0
