I think sometimes it's easier just to swallow the cost and move on. You don't need to break the chain you've built up by any delays. Gutting all the same."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0

Morning all, it's finally half-term :j :j This week has been horrible at work, I could quite happily have walked
Anyway, now I have a week off, a week of packing and cleaning, making lists and lie-ins
This morning I need to drop ds at the station to go to his Dads, then I am going to go to a local town for their market, I haven't been for ages and ages so that should be nice. Bournemouth aren't playing until Monday night so not so much footie for me this weekend, although I still want to see how the other teams around us do (lose hopefully).
You're right Pooky, I need to just swallow it into the bigger picture but it's frustrating as it feels unfair and it's a lot of money to just announce out of the blue
So, back later and then it will be list timeMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

So yesterday I had a day of doing absolutely nothing. No idea why, I just had zero motivation to do anything. I think it's becuase I feel in complete limbo at the moment, I don't know whether to get on and pack stuff or whether I should wait
I just want to be in my new home and I'm impatient
Anyway, today .... ds is coming home at lunchtime, I need to pick him up about 1pm. The Tesco shopping is coming between 2-3pm. Maybe once he's home I'll find my mojo again cos at the moment it's definitely missingMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Hi Benben, I've ready your diary and admire your focus and commitment to your finances, i wish i was half as organised as you. Sometimes we just need a day to rest and relax to get our energy back. I'm in limbo too waiting for a house sale and it's very frustrating and energy draining. Will be cheering your team on tomorrow night, I'm another footie fan but I'm a Chelsea supporter so really hope Bournemouth can get a result. Enjoy your half term.0

Hello Blackcats
If I'm honest I am just hoping we don't let 6 in again tonight, almost all our defenders are injured so we almost certainly will get hammered again
Today I'm going out for coffee with some friends, ds is having his haircut and I am crossing my fingers and hoping I hear something from the solicitor todayMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

I haven't heard anything today from the solicitor, I have decided to start cleaning, so I'm going cupboard by cupboard / drawer by drawer, checking what's in them is all stuff that needs to come with us, if not it's being binned along the way. Then once i know it's only good stuff left it all comes out, the cupboard/drawer is cleaned to within an inch of its life then the stuff goes back ready to be packed. That way at least when we do pack there is only minimal cleaning to be done. It's just so frustrating not knowing where we're at. I know really I need to stop getting so carried away and accept it could still be ages before we complete, I just feel like a kid at Christmas at the moment.
I may get a removal company to come round this week and give me a quote, I may also look at a man and a van - I really don't have much stuff ( a combination of not having much space and not hoarding anything), it's just getting the furniture down the stairs that's the problem, but even then I don't have much - all the kitchen appliances are built-in so are staying (except for a small freezer in the hall cupboard), wardrobes are all built-in so staying, my table / chairs all come apart so aren't a problem, really it's just my sofa. The fire is staying, ds desk and shelf unit can be dismantled, his bed went to the tip ages ago so just mattresses as my bed probably wont survive being dismantled, in fact I'm amazed it's lasted as long as it has. So really we're looking at a sofa, a freezer and some chest of drawers (drawers can be removed to make it easier). Maybe the man and the van is looking the better option??
Spends today = £15 on ds haircut (£11 for the haircut and then I got 2 x £2 coins change, so they had to go in my £2 savings jar). I also went out with friends for coffee and cake but they insisted on payingMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Still nothing from the solicitor today, I emailed them this afternoon so hopefully will hear something tomorrow.
Today ds and I went for a trip round Ikea and have got lots of ideas of things we like for the new house. I spent £20 on a couple of cushions for the sofa and £12 on meatballs for lunch. When we came home I sat on the sofa and woke up two hours later, not really sure what happened there but I do feel a lot better for itMortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000

Your sale/purchase sounds so much like mine - I hadn't heard today so rang estate agent who said "oh we haven't heard either" I asked them to chase up and she said "ok will do that tomorrow". No sense of urgency or understanding of how stressful it can be living in limbo. Hope you hear something tomorrow.0

So today ... this morning is a bit of housework and maybe some sorting if I can get in the mood. I need to pay my water bill online too. After lunch I need to take Mum to the hospital for a scan, I think it's just a follow up from her chest infection although seems strange to send her back when it's cleared up. We'll see
I'm trying to keep busy rather than checking my emails every two minutes too.Mortgage Total: £50,720/ £75,000
