Lost job, renewal coming up

Hello MoneySavers,
as per title- jobless and car insurance is already at a high premium.(£600)

Is there a way if they can check if I am at work?

How badly insurance would increase, if I was to say, that I am currently unemployed?

I expect to find a job in a 2-3, 4 max months time, after the opp, just bit anxious not get in to a serious problem as declined insurance or that premium would increase so much, that I couldn't afford.

Thanks,

    Sorry to hear your news.

I guess the issue is what happens if you had to claim, and they turned you down.

Maybe do some anonymous searches - perhaps for a similar car, in a similar area with and without job?

Anybody would know as by how much it changes?

I mean, should I risk it... or got to park up the car for good...

I think, I still could afford £600 moneys on the day, but honestly- if vehicle is uninsured and I loose use of car, that'll be very unbearable, esp where I live...

No-one is going to suggest that you 'risk it'. Do it properly.

No can do, if it goes above £600 notes- just cant afford it!... and come to think of it- can not keep uninsured car, until I could...:(

It's either £600 or 600 notes. You can't go all cockney and keep the £ symbol.

Can you do some voluntary work until you get a job? You could then legitimately put yourself as a volunteer, which should be lower than putting down unemployed.
