Called the RSPCA about a dog that has been left in a neighbours garden in the freezing cold. It is winter now, sub zero temperatures at night and the dog is obviously suffering as it is howling.
Well what did the RSPCA do about it? Absolutely NOTHING!!!
They told me to report it to the council.
Is this the best we can expect from this organisation?
Dont waste your time contacting them for help with animals. About as useful as a chocolate teapot. :wall:

There is little they can do (as we found out) - as long as the dog is fed and has water.
I thought shelter would have been important as well.
Why do people get animals if they are not going to look after them?IITYYHTBMAD0 -
We have had several experiences like this with the RSPCA......0

OP, they're more interested in using their powers to prosecute people.0

If the dog isn't being mistreated then it's nothing to do with the RSPCA. It may be seen as being cruel to leave a dog outside (and I wouldn't do it) but at the end of the day it is an animal with fur.
Lots of people keep their dogs outside in a kennel.0 -
Doesn't surprise me. I can't bear the RSPCA. All they are interested in is getting as many prosecutions as possible, and getting donations. Wouldn't give them a bean if my life depended on it.Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

What did you expect from them, they are a complete waste of time.Treat other's how you like to be treated.

Proud nanny to two beautiful boys :j
And now I have the joy of having my foster granddaughter becoming my real granddaughter. Can't ask for anything better
UPDATE,
As of today 180919. my granddaughter is now my official granddaughter, adoption finally granted0 -
Op, does the dog have any shelter at all? Is there a kennel or shed it has access to? Does it have food and water. It says on the web site that a dog should have all these things. Saying that, you will find it almost impossible to get the RSPCA involved.
I found a remedy, will pm you.

They don't actually have any more "powers" to prosecute people than you or me! In fact they have no statutory powers at all.
They just like to pretend they do, dress up in police style uniforms and give themselves meaningless "ranks".
Dreadful organisation!0
