    Thanks everyone.:)

It never ceases to amaze me the perfectly usable things that people get rid of just because they want new!!

I don't know, maybe I'm getting old but I rarely replace anything that isn't worn out. :)

Except the ex husband, obviously :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Piece of a homemade soap bar given to dh by a colleague to entice him to buy; I'll use it up, but won't buy any. It's not foaming, and we have enough (free) bars of soap to last us the rest of our lives..... €0,05

    Home made soap, that's impressive.
2 free hopper bus journeys to and from the theatre worth £3

My elder son paid for my theatre ticket saving me £26 :T

Nipping on quick in my lunchbreak (wombling work wi-fi? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) to report my amazing womble this weekend.

One of the girls at work was having new carpets fitted and was looking for someone to help her take the old ones up (she's single) I voluntered myself and OH to give her a hand.

Turns out the only reason she was having them replaced was because she wanted all the carpets throughout her flat to match, the one in the living room had only been down about 13months and looks practically brand new.

Anyway it's the ideal size to replace our bedroom carpet which was not great anyway when we moved in and we've been here 13 years in May!

It's an 80/20 wool twist and as I say looks practically new, I offered her something for it but she was just grateful for the help in getting it up and us taking it away for her so she didn't have to get it to the tip that she didn't want paying!!! Yes she really was going to tip it:eek::eek::eek:

Anyhoo OH laid it yesterday afternoon (he's handy like that:)) and it looks fab, like a brand new carpet.

I've been on carpet right to look at prices and I reckon it's worth about £450, so that's what I'm claiming:j:j:j:j

Wow that is an amazing saving. I have never understood the mindset of buying new things when you don't need them. I swear some even buy a new sofa every couple of years! Mine is 10 years old and in my opinion looks fab. It's leather, so they look great beat up. I always remember when one women I knew scrapped her expensive new sofa just because everyone was getting leather ones, and she felt unfashionable. We are all part of the same species but some seem so unfathomable to me.

Just 4 eggs this morning and 11p roadkill to report = 51p total...

Glad the girls are still delivering Dizzy
Wow, Crafty Witch. That's a fantastic womble.

    Today I saved;
£1.39 in Superdrug stocking up on hand wash
£4.25 on various YS goods in Iceland
60p on mince pies in Aldi (for C since I'm supposed to be eating healthily)
4p found (1p on road, 1p in Home Bargains and 2x1p in Aldi -do you think I'm becoming obsessed?)
    Total - £6.98
    Total to date - £115.97

No such thing as a bad roadkill fixation :rotfl:

This thread had disappeared from my subscriptions somehow...

Last week I got rather too excited whilst food shopping; stood by the meat reductions waiting for husband to return from the loo - a green crate of YS meat heading towards me...

10pk chicken wings 22p! 2x 4pk pork steaks were 26p each, and a pack of 2 beef medallion steaks for 32p.

I do wonder if the supermarket (smallish Mr T) over-ordered over Christmas and has a lot of stock to shift - I've seen tons of YS veg in there too - I've been eating fancy chantenay carrots instead of the usual value ones for weeks - been at 5p per 500g pack...

I did miss an amazing YS bargain at the fancy M&Sparks I check out before heading to Mr T - a woman had a huge birthday cake for £1!

Those are fabulous meat prices, utterly envious:T

Nowt wrong with that. I bet the potatoes are fine. My best price for us bread is 10p. My only issue is freezer space. I only have a three shelf freezer. So when I see the cheap loaves I can only usually buy 4 max. Annoying but hardly worth getting a bigger freezer for.
