Piece of a homemade soap bar given to dh by a colleague to entice him to buy; I'll use it up, but won't buy any. It's not foaming, and we have enough (free) bars of soap to last us the rest of our lives..... €0,05

  • Nipping on quick in my lunchbreak (wombling work wi-fi? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) to report my amazing womble this weekend.

One of the girls at work was having new carpets fitted and was looking for someone to help her take the old ones up (she's single) I voluntered myself and OH to give her a hand.

Turns out the only reason she was having them replaced was because she wanted all the carpets throughout her flat to match, the one in the living room had only been down about 13months and looks practically brand new.

Anyway it's the ideal size to replace our bedroom carpet which was not great anyway when we moved in and we've been here 13 years in May!

It's an 80/20 wool twist and as I say looks practically new, I offered her something for it but she was just grateful for the help in getting it up and us taking it away for her so she didn't have to get it to the tip that she didn't want paying!!! Yes she really was going to tip it:eek::eek::eek:

Anyhoo OH laid it yesterday afternoon (he's handy like that:)) and it looks fab, like a brand new carpet.

I've been on carpet right to look at prices and I reckon it's worth about £450, so that's what I'm claiming:j:j:j:j

This thread had disappeared from my subscriptions somehow...

Last week I got rather too excited whilst food shopping; stood by the meat reductions waiting for husband to return from the loo - a green crate of YS meat heading towards me...

10pk chicken wings 22p! 2x 4pk pork steaks were 26p each, and a pack of 2 beef medallion steaks for 32p.

I do wonder if the supermarket (smallish Mr T) over-ordered over Christmas and has a lot of stock to shift - I've seen tons of YS veg in there too - I've been eating fancy chantenay carrots instead of the usual value ones for weeks - been at 5p per 500g pack...

I did miss an amazing YS bargain at the fancy M&Sparks I check out before heading to Mr T - a woman had a huge birthday cake for £1!
