I *love* allotment humour. A shedload is a variable but sizable amount usually positive. Metric or imperial happily a matter of taste.

McDonalds opened a new trough near us, saved £5.37 feeding the blond teenagers using vouchers & uplifted still more from yesterdays Metro so eldest may be munching Big Macs for several meals in the coming month. I do like the Big Mac hack. I also got a free helium balloon for the other son & that led to happy giggling phone call & then air-rudely-escaping-balloon humour - priceless...

Wombled another Asda chit (son muttered something about 'so embarrassing') & the voucher's worth £2.46! Son can learn better ways.

My partner does this when I pick up receipts. He still thinks i'm mad!

Cheap(est) favour would probably be a snapshot of the 2 of you (taken in the morning - can be developed/printed during the day/handed out at the end of the evening) with a text underneath 'thank you for joining us on this special day [date], [names]". Maybe your photographer is willing to do this?

Maybe you can invite the bridesmaids for (homemade) lunch at your place a few weeks after the wedding, and give them a picture of the wedding party or an individual professional picture in their bridesmaid's outfit, that was taken on the day?

Thanks Siebrie - what a brilliant idea xx

I've very little time for wedding favours - far too often they end up as after the knees-up rubbish, whereas a professional shot of me looking glorious alongside my pal the bride (and/or a shot of me just looking glorious) would be much appreciated.

One bride I know had charm bracelets assembled - bracelet, a wedding charm & the bridesmaid's initial, which I thought individual yet simple & far nicer than the usual "bridesmaids jewellery gifts".

Whatever you do, think hard about where the favours (if any) end up. Unless you have solid plans for where they go, predict landfill & avoid. If you must, commission an origami artist to fold something for each table (& possibly create a memento for each guest, on request). Less expensive, more unusual & they're fun to watch...
