That's it for the time being. Been really busy with the house and gardening. Managed to fill up the hole from the pond that the previous owners left. We donated the fish to a lovely lady who has had numerous operations on her spine and who is very unwell. She loves the fish in her pond and would sit and stroke them (they'd come up to the surface to see her). Unfortunately her son didn't look after them properly when they were away at the hospital and some of them died. She was very upset so we donated our koi carp to her and she was absolutely over the moon. For me, that is priceless.
Anyway DOH was going to call a company in to fill in the hole but I managed to rake the majority of the earth that they had just banked up to the sides in order to try to get a level garden. I reckon it would have cost us at least £100 to get this sorted but I would never have paid for it so I'm not counting it.
There was also a fence separating the two parts of the garden which I am donating to my mum as the fence at the front of her house is rotting and is a mess. She is on her own and wouldn't be able to afford to have it replaced. I'm going to paint it up and then go round and replace it for her. I think she'll be really pleased.
Not quite wombles - but wombling in reverse - and as I totally believe in karma it feels like a nice way to pay back for all of the fabulous wombles I have received this year.
Have a great day everyone.0 -
