You're right to be upset and angry that your solicitor can't be contacted. But you haven't been blocked or deleted.
You haven't had hatred, but lots of good advice regarding getting an official complaint started, and changing solicitors.
How about acknowledging that?0 -
I sympathise personally - as I disagree with people/companies not sticking to agreements they've made (eg on the timing).
Though, I must admit, the second I read the word "leasehold" then I would have translated that personally into "saved by the bell - drop the house and find a normal one (ie freehold)".
At any rate - in your position - I'd spend some of my holiday break reading the various articles about this on The Guardian website. They aren't exactly reassuring reading. I suspect a noticeable number of people thought "Oh never mind that it's leasehold - I'll buy the freehold darn soon and it won't cost me much" and then the builders promptly sold that on to another firm (ie one that would start looking for excuses to rake in the money).
So - if you still want this house:
- Do change to an impartial solicitor
and
- Absolutely insist you won't be buying it unless you've got the equivalent of triple-signed in blood that you will be able to buy the lease pronto and at a price not exceeding £x and that that still applies (no matter who subsequently gets to be the freeholder).
Me - I'm very cynical all round about the builders of those houses...:(
I'm only grateful I'm from a part of the country this sort of thing rarely happens (as our houses are, in the vast majority, freehold) and I've "brought my expectations" on that front with me when I moved.0 -
Confused by the thread title - Blocked & Deleted ...?It's the facebook generation and a bit over-emotional.
Indeed, around 50 years ago, we youngsters were far less melodramatic. :A

I don't think it's being melodramtic - it's being shocked.
It does take many (ie a lot) of years living on Planet Earth before one stops being shocked at what some other people get up to - and just goes into "Not another one of THEM..... Now what do I do about this particular little 'charmer' on this one then?" mode and just sighs heavily and starts looking up what the law is about whatever-it-is some little "darling" has come up with this time:cool: to try and pull a fast one.
At 60 plus years old - I still had a "What?! Mygawd - I didn't realise some people could be so selfish!" incident only about a week ago. You'd a thunk I'd have realised all possible things on that front by now at my age....but one can still be (unpleasantly) surprised...
Some of us start out being idealists - and then we learn....darn it. Latest incidents involving two people being incredibly selfish as regards their own daughters!!!0 -

28 days is rarely adhered too. When did your mortgage offer come through? Unless instructed to do so. Your solicitors would have done very little before then. While they do indeed work for you. They also work for your mortgage lender and need to meet the lenders requirements as well prior to exchange.0 -
