Someone's best friends, next door neighbours, dog, aunts, grandads, is bound to know for sure!:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0

Didn't think I'd get chance to but unexpectedly had to leave work early today, so managed to get the chance to look round the 2 Boots stores I'm going to try and visit. There seemed to be less stock in the larger shop, but that opens first and last year I fitted going to both in. Nothing I particularly want but will pick up bits for birthday presents and Christmas stocking fillers for teenage daughter and Neice.
I am still expecting it to be Wednesday 18th Jan, as I've said all along.0 -
I expect it will be Wednesday, but to be honest I can't be bothered! It used to be a bit of fun, getting a few bargin bits and bob's for birthdays and Christmas. But the last few years it has got worse and worse.
Last year the was a family clearing shelves and stacking everything in a corner of the photography department, there was a mountain of stuff, guarded by a large, shaved headed man, lying on the floor in front of it all, who would audibly snarl and bear his teeth at anyone who even glanced in his direction. I pity anyone who had called in hoping to buy a none sale photo frame or album they would not have stood a chance.Dogs return to eat their vomit, just as fools repeat their foolishness. There is no more hope for a fool than for someone who says, "i am really clever!"0 -
Why doesn't Boots phase in the 70% items every week from Boxing Day?
Add new lines every week and spread the footfall.
It would save them the hassle of hoards of customers turning up early on a weekday when staffing is low and tills unmanned.
I know that one major store on Boxing Day had certain Christmas lines that numbered thousands of units due to over supply from the main warehouse.
They could have easily discounted these to 70% just after Christmas. I'm guessing these will be all that's left later this week.0 -
Stock in Chester shop was nothing specialtoo - a lot of S&G, some No7 and Ted Bakers. I think a lot of people just couldn't be bothered to wait & fight for couple of pounds and bought things at 50% already. I did at least.ally.0

Because it's far easier for them to ship everything out to stores or ensure everything that is likely to be in the sale is at the warehouse and release it all in one go. As a business Boots don't give a toss who buys the stock as long as it's cleared, whether it be shared amongst all those patiently queuing or whether aforementioned 'customers' sweep the shelves clean in one foul swoop to sell on at the car boot.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Quite a bit of S&G stuff including some star gift (probably about 15 sets) in Stratford upon Avon town centre store. Maybird store also still looks quite full.:money::rotfl::T0

I totally understand some folks wanting to give it a miss this year , and , I too am tempted,,,
But I need the big (totally unnecessary ) packaging to fill my kids ( well young adults) stocking sack they both had since babies ,,,,, damn my MIL for making them and embroidering their names on !
Boys (well young men ) are hard to buy for , so all the Lynx , FCUk, jack wills, ted and so forth gets used up during the year, none of it is waisted ,
I don't buy the gifts for anyone else, last year got a S&G for me to use, but I really have enough , so no more rubbishy things for me ,,,,
So I will go and hopefully get done and dusted for this Xmas stocking sacks ,,,,:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:0
