  • Can I be in again this month please - I could do with it being a properly tight month, so £110 for four of us plus a dog.

Already spent £8.27 on washing powder, fabric conditioner and toilet paper, but that should last the whole month. Possibly.

  • Hi tealmummy, I'd count taxi as travel and Gregg's as eating out, it all depends on your own budget categories. Some people have separate budgets for toiletries, I keep it as grocery as it's a negligible cost to me it's not worth a separate budget. Have a think about where you spend your money and if it's worth a different budget, or to be included as grocery.

I've not spent any grocery money today, I did top up the car on the way to picking up a free corner Christmas tree! Mine was 25 years old and lost 3 branches do I was going to buy one in the sales when mum spotted someone was offering this for free and called me up!

I have sorted through the main larder cupboard and listed everything in categories and I've done the bottom layer of the spices/baking cupboard. Amazed at how much we have, but it's not ridiculous. It's the festive bits that will soon be used up that's taking up room at the moment.
  • Just a quick post to say £2.80 spent at Mr S and £8.73 at Mr A on fruit and veg and healthy snacks for the week. Signature updated :)

Made a Mary Berry macaroni cheese for tea to use up the remaining Christmas cheese. Yum!

Hoping to join spend until Friday now when OH gets paid.

Thanks to those that run the thread!

ended up taking daughter to greggs for lunch and getting a taxi home :( would you take these out of your grocery challenge budget or a seperate one?

I wouldn't use the grocery budget for either of those.

Had my first spend today in Mr A's, grand total of £3.39, so good start. Staying home tomorrow, then working the rest of the week so won't be going to any shops until at least Saturday.

Food deliveries have been. Some months I get a Mr M or a Mr T and some months-like this one-I get one of each!

This might seem like madness to some but it is what works for me and my OH, there are some products that seem essential to our lives and one of the two might stock it and the other won't.

    Mr T - £46.14
    Mr M - £49.91

I don't think we'll be needing any more food for a while!
