    Someone mentioned a rolling week of menus the other day. I quite like that idea as I am sometimes too busy to do exactly what is on the meal plan for that day or something happens and totally blows my plan out of the window.

    So with that in mind a devised a five day 'pick and mix' plan. That is 5 lunches, 5 dinners and 5 puddings. I can now 'pick and mix' our meals according to what is happening.

    So far so good, we had unexpected friends for lunch today so I quickly made fresh pea and mint soup from the list - I had all the items needed, it didn't take long and I didn't panic and go out and buy something, I could almost say 'stress free'. Hopefully this will work for me.

    Sorry to read about your Nephew Coxy, I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts tomorrow

    I've been shopping today, drinks for me and the boys for our day out and a carton of formula milk for the toddler. I also picked up some cooked chicken for tea tonight. I made sweet and sour, thought I had a jar of sauce to use, but realised when I got home, I didn't have any!
    I then decided I had all the ingredients in to make the sauce from scratch, so rustled up a sauce and had dinner on the table within 50 minutes of being home, whilst watching 3 children aged 7, 5 and 14 months :)

    I'm so sorry Coxy. Years ago an old high school class mate of mine committed suicide, whilst they had never been an especially close friend I was absolutely devastated by the way their life had ended.

    As an aunt to four nieces and nephew's, I cannot begin to imagine what you must be going through.
