Thanks FBO, will look at those baskets tomorrow.
We probably won't get snow, just horrendous winds and rain. The Rest should be open unless there's another landslide which misses the huge netting. I'll probably not get down for Christmas so it's good that Hogmanay is more important.
Glad you've got snow chains all sorted. My friends all laugh st me having a shovel, yaktraxs, water, chocolate, nuts and a single duvet in my car, even when we lived in the middle of Newcastle upon Tyne. In the winter of 2010/11 they stopped laughing!0 -
My sister used to laugh as well. No more. I couldn't get the car out for 3 weeks. They snow ploughed the front of the school and dumped all the snow across the entrance to our road. Thankfully DH was out when they did it or all hell would have broken loose.
Fingers crossed for clear roads for you. I on the other hand would love to be snowed inGoals - Weight loss 6/26lb at 22nd Jan 18Mmmm. 26lb at 1/7/18. Oops:o0 -

DH keeps blanket, chocolate, water, shovel & wellies in his car from December to late March, for his trans-UK driving. Luckily he has only needed it once (wellies when Gateshead was flooded) as he always eats the chocolate2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I keep my goodies in the boot in the space round the spare wheel so I can't easily reach them normally. Duvet used to go there too in my old car, in the new one there actually is a spare wheel, not just a space for it, so it's in boot proper.
I recall being broken down once at Bardon Mill, just past the Little Chef westbound on the part where there is an uphill overtaking lane. Accelerator cable snapped, freezing snowy conditions and the AA sent a patrol van down from Scotland. Duvet, chocolate and water were perfect. Also got things called 'Hotties' which are little hand warmers. Please don't google 'Hotties' without using hand warmers too as the search results may make you go blind!
