Confused what the actual price of fibre internet would be? Advice..

The question is: what speed do you need?0

As I said the more the better within reason. I mean if it was alot more for the 100mbit then I wouldnt bother but if it is the exact same price as I am paying now then it would increase my work manyfold.
I can use as much as I can get since I program and my work is internet based so the more I have to play with the more I can utilize.
Regarding switching I need to give sky a month's notice right? so I should do it soonish once I decide and fit it in with the hyperoptic guy's coming to fit the new one.0 -

I mean does the fact that there is hyperoptic in my building have any bearing on the deals I may want from other providers stated above? or are all the companies independant in terms of whether they will install the fibre to the building? It isn't like one broadband for all which you would get from BT IIRC like it used to be?
.
With all the other ISPs except VM, the line that the broadband comes down it part of the BT local loop and the ISP buys wholesale services to connect between your house and their own internal network - some from BT and possibly some from a backhaul provider if they don't have their own. That does not mean all ISPs connecting you over a BT line offer the same service. They don't, nothing like. The bit of cable from your house to the green box is just one small part of the internet service you buy.Proud member of the wokerati, though I don't eat tofu.Home is where my books are.Solar PV 5.2kWp system, SE facing, >1% shading, installed March 2019.Mortgage free July 20230 -
why do I still have to pay for the Internet at 7 a month when the uswitch offer shows sky's internet as free?
Sky Broadband Unlimited £7.50 Supplement for not having Sky TV £2.50 Sky Talk Line Rental £17.40
I removed the 1571 service and free evening and weekend calls but still I am gonna be at 27.50 vs the 17.40 quoted on uswitch.
I only use broadband so I am paying another superfluous charge for not having sky right? I asked the woman today and she said she didn't have any offers for me but I didn't mention wanting to switch. I just left it at that moment. 27.40 still seems very poor compared to the other offers on uswitch or would they end up to be a similar price once the new user grace period was over?0
