In the past I've made a pasta bake - leftovers with pasta and cheese sauce poured over
Reading back, what I did not make clear was this soup was brought into work each day afterwards and at lunchtime would be warmed up in the microwave. Then they would consume it at their desk. By day three I was dreading lunchtimes and that familiar smell:(0 -

Apart from attention seeking, why post this is a thread specifically about the use of christmas leftovers. Look at me everyone, LOOK AT ME! !!!!!!.

So sorry to hear this. I suggest a day of doing / eating / drinking whatever you feel like, whatever makes you feel good - once you've thrown expectations out of the window, it can feel quite liberating!
And then I wish you all the best for a better 2017.
I'll add my favourite: Toast & turkey / beef /pork / goose dripping0 -
We don't have turkey (none of us really like it) but have a huge corn fed chicken instead. There are lots of veggies for Xmas day (sprouts with pancetta, roast bns, cauliflower cheese, parsnips, peas, red cabbage, glazed carrots and roasties of course) and sides of pigs in blankets, Yorkshires, sausagemeat stuffing balls and bread sauce. We will have leftovers from that which are picked at on Boxing Day, and meat and stuffing may go into soft rolls for lunches, veggies will be turned into bubble and squeak with crumbs of meat added in. Any big slices of meat still uneaten will be frozen in gravy for a quick dinner for DD. Small bits of meat picked off will be frozen and used in pasta/ risotto another time. Bones will be turned into stock (possibly used in risotto - or soup)
Cheeses are just eaten as lunches with crackers in first couple of weeks of Jan. We only have a small Xmas pud (not liked by many) so usually gone in a couple of days. Other desserts are ice cream (sits happily in freezer anyway) and a chocolate bombe dessert - which will be demolished within a couple of days by the teenagers.
Sweets are easily eaten - any not really liked are used up in rocky road style fridge cake - along with any biscuits languishing around after a couple of weeks.

I severely doubt we'll have leftover meat, as three teenagers can devour almost Anything, but they're picky mortals over the veggies, so my beloved Roast Soup is a seasonal treat I look forward to.
A toastie from leftover cheese? Now, can I beat the teenagers to the cheeseboard boxing day morning? There's an MSE idea - I'm going easy on the (rare) icofrol to be alert enough to make a leftover toastie!
I may give bubble & squeak patties under a fried egg a go - the lads focus on the eggy fun & may not realise I've sneaked vegetables into them At Breakfast. And if they do, shrug, & squeak into souppot...
Thank you for all the ideas!0 -
For the past few years we have been lucky enough to have lovely christmas meals at pubs.
This year we are home and really looking forward to the leftovers to be hoenst. as it's just the two of us and a menagerie of animals.
Leftover hopes are cold meats, with pickle, stuffing and potatoes, and as time goes on anything left will be turned into festive soup.
I've just iced my first ever homemade christmas cake, and made the christmas pudding last night which is all now safely in the fridge.0 -

I'm loving the melananza rissoles, they're on my list for this year, and monnagran's remnant pie is genius. I will absolutely be making prinzezzilein's curry puffs too- what a simple-yet-delicious thing!
Great ideas everyone! Can't wait for the leftovers now. They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
We don't have turkey since I'm a pescatarian (vegetarian who eats fish but no meat) so we have a vegetarian version on the mock turkey recipe which they did on Wartime Farm. We love it the next day sliced and fried with some bubble and squeak. Hands down best meal of the year!
Also this evening I'm making brussel sprout gratin so if that goes well I'm sure we will have it again to use up the big bag of sprouts we have. You could do it with any of the veg as well though.Vintage loving, allotment holding, low waste living. Indi = DH. Maisie Bones = fur baby
