Ally, what a start to the dayHope your neighbours are ok.
Lovely day although my youngest isn't quite himself.
Right that's it as I said I'd only come online for 5 minutes

Evening all
Hope everyone has had /is having a good day
I was up early, about 5.20, was just awake, so got up and made a start on tidying and prepping for the day
Mild, so no heating needed till early evening, when we lit the stove
DD, SiL and GD came for Christmas lunch
OH was in charge of the turkey, and I did the veg and trimmings - a tray of potatoes, parsnips, carrots and onions roasted in the oven, pigs in blankets, cranberry sauce, sprouts, braised red cabbage and gravy, trifle for dessert, as I (rightly) thought that Xmas pud would be a bit much after that
After they had gone OH and I took the dog for a route march to walk off some of that huge lunch
We are all off to DD1's tomorrow - we normally host on Boxing Day, but she wanted to do it this year, and she does have far more space than we do in our little cottage. Also meant far less catering for me this yearthough I have made some things to take with us. We will stay overnight, which will be nice, so probably won't get on here tomorrow. Hope you all enjoy the rest of the holiday

Hi all
Wow what a scary start to the day Ally hope there isnt too much damage.
Brilliant day with the family but I must admit to a tiny bit of relief that it's all over and everything went pretty much according to plan. DS1 looked a little bit wobbly once or twice but compared to previous years he did amazingly well.
Happy Christmas to you all. I hope to see a lot more of you in 2017, I certainly need your help and encouragement!0 -

Not sure how it started. Wonder if it was embers from various chimneys in the street.
Anyway, everyone was shaken not stirred and the building was just scorched.Debt-free day: 8th May 2015 "Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck," Dalai Llama0
