I have an almost identical situation.
An 11 year old with an XBOX One, and a laptop, started getting frustrated at games that wouldn't play on his laptop and wanted a gaming PC.
£500 was my budget too and after some research realised that you can't get a supercomputer for £500.
So I checked with him which games wouldn't play on his laptop, and had the understanding that any AAA grahic intensive game he can play on the XBOX and ended up buying this for £552 in November, gone up a bit now.
Hopefully does the job when it's all plugged in after Xmas.
Goodness knows what he's going to have next Xmas??0 -
I dunno man, when I was 11 I was lucky to get a Furby and some Pokemon cards.
As for a GoPro yes it will work on almost any PC just to transfer over the videos but if you want to edit with GoPro Studio you will have minimum requirements which I believe the PC linked to meets. It's only the minimum requirements though, don't expect him to be able to edit feature length 4K movies without a bit of lag.
The smart thing to do in my opinion is to get him something cheap that'll "do" until he's old enough to make the most of a more expensive one in a few years time. If he wants to play AAA games he has a games console. That's only opinion though, and I'm only a stranger on the Internet. You know him better than I do and you know your finances etc.
Of course if it was my kid he'd get a £40 Raspberry Pi and second hand monitor to play his browser games on. And I'd expect him to teach himself Python with it too.Hi. For your budget,
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Zoostorm-Core-i3-4170-Dual-Core-Gaming-PC-8GB-RAM-2TB-GTX-950-WiFi-Win-10-/262714795858?hash=item3d2b05a752:g:Ni0AAOSwKOJYJeho
Then add monitor, keyboard & mouse & speaker
The Zoostorm PC's are hard to beat as a cheap gaming PC, whenever I've been looking for a cheap gaming PC to recommend I've not been able to find anything better for the price. Plus with it being a desktop it's easy enough to change any of the parts you want as time goes on.

My daughter would also like a gaming pc to play rocket league and minecraft on. To play games, It says Memory: 4 GB RAM , Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 660 or better, ATI 7950 or better. What pc from a shop like Argos or currys have a pc with this spec?0

Currys and Argos are not a good choice for a gaming PC, most of their PC's use shared graphics and their case design (small form factor or all in one) can't take a proper dedicated graphics card. If you can get this one, it's the cheapest that meets your spec:
http://www.currys.co.uk/gbuk/computing/desktop-pcs/desktop-pcs/pc-specialist-vortex-core-gaming-pc-10146634-pdt.html
This is a similar spec to the £400 Zoostorm one posted on the previous page. After that one it jumps to £700 but this one at £800 is a better buy for its more powerful graphics card:

Looking through Argos, this is the cheapest one I can find with a dedicated graphics card for £850 which is a similar spec to the £800 Currys one:

What is your budget and does that need to include monitor etc too?
How old is your daughter? Does she have a games console?
Will she want to play other games on it too and if so can you tell us what kind?Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. You should buy a console. PS4 is the best option0

Thanks for replying. I was hoping for a budget of £500. She is 12 with an Xbox one. Her friends are getting a gaming PC for Xmas. I've told her we will get one on boxing day sales.0

seems ok more RAM should be installed in future as it only has 8gb , but it has a decicated graphics card. there are some already on this thread for ~£400 that will be at least as good though.0
