Just wanted to say good luck with your journey, I echo that you're not a crap Mum you certainly couldn't help being poorly!
Wondering about which order you'll focus paying back your debt, is the payday loan a high interest rate? If so this might be your priority.
Anyway hope you enjoy your Xmas, H x0 -

Rang Sky who wasn't very helpful. My bill has gone back up to £80 a month (haven't even got movies or sports in that!). The best they can do is £61 a month which I have refused as my bill has always been discounted to £52. Will wait til my contract is up in February and leave if nothing can be reduced after the new year.
Also emptied the freezer of old stuff ready for a new year stock pile and found lots of unused salmon, tuna steaks and other fish. So I've cooked that and stored it in the fridge for the cat
will save on cat food for the next two weeks. Pay off all your debt 2017: £3500/£0Clothing Challenge 2017: £600/£0Sealed Pot: £0 Virtual Sealed Pot: £00 -

I second getting rid of Sky and going with Netflix. I pay £22 a month for unlimited broadband, line rental and calls (with Sky) & pay £7.49 for Netflix.
My broadband is free with Sky till May - it's usually £5 a month. If they up it I shall move.0 -
Would I need a smart tv to get Netflix on the tv or would it just be through a laptop? xxPay off all your debt 2017: £3500/£0Clothing Challenge 2017: £600/£0Sealed Pot: £0 Virtual Sealed Pot: £00

You have similar goals to me. I've subscribed to your thread and maybe we can help each other along.
In terms of days out with your children:
Cinema: most chains do early morning showings for £2 a person. We've seen films that were full price a couple of months before.
English heritage: We have membership and I think it's great value as there are so many places included in the price.0 -
Netflix can be done through computer if no smart tv. My kids have it on their cheap tablets too. Also worth looking at Amazon prime & Now Tv. I wouldn't go back to Sky now, was with them for more then 11yrs and left 18months ish ago, when I couldn't get them to give me a good discount at the end of my contract.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.
