I guess if anyone (for whatever reason) were going to 'clone' a car reg no, they would choose one that fitted the make/model/colour of the car they were using, that wouldn't be hard.
But you have a starting point, if you know went to the hairdresser that day. Do they have any records - have you asked them? Do you know where else you went or anyone else you saw or spoke to that day (maybe from CC bills, phone bills etc)? Did you use a car park? They may have CCTV with your car on it.0 -
Sorry OP, I can't make any more suggestions, other than does your hairdresser keep their old appointment book?
We had exactly the same thing twice with one of our vans, same make and model and with the reg of our van on it.
First time it was a plain white so looked the same as ours, second had a ladder rack on it, so we knew instantly it wasn't ours.
Both times we sent a print out of the tracker on the vehicle showing it was nowhere near the alleged offence and that was that.0 -
Bit of a long shot but look at your bank statement, if you withdrew cash on that day it will say whereabouts and also some transactions around that date may give you a location, the bank may be able to give more info such as exactly when the transaction took place.

Right. First things first. Does anyone other than you have access to your use your car? If so, you'll need to account for their whereabouts on the day in question, not just your own.
If you went to the hairdresser, go to them and ask if they can provide copies of the appointment and also provide copies of what they would do with a cancelled appointment (cross out, erase, delete?). This would prove that you had an appointment that wasn't cancelled.
Check your credit/debit card statements. Maybe you withdrew money to pay for the haircut or maybe you paid for something without realizing.
As an extreme, how do you pay for fuel? If you pay on card, make a point that there is no fuel payment between Liverpool and Birmingham and that, whilst possible to travel that distance without filling up, you'd expect a fill up before setting off. Given the price of the ticket was £1, I don't think the judge would assume you purposely left no tracks on your travels to Birmingham to avoid a parking charge.0 -
I've moved this over to the Parking sub-board - I have sent the OP a message so they can hopefully return to view this thread.0

I've already occurred £75.00 of court costs,
You have not said which parking firm this is - so, who is it?
If it is VCS or Excel then did the 'really good Judge' not pick up on the fact that you were saying you WERE NOT DRIVING and Excel/VCS admit they can't hold a keeper liable? Therefore you were never liable, cloning or not.
Or is it ParkingEye?
Surely the car was simply being used by a relative or partner that day - what makes you so sure it wasn't your car?
Please show us the evidence, the Witness Statement they sent (host it in Dropbox as a zip file or take photos of each sheet, covering your personal details, and put the photos up on Tinypic or Photobucket if you don't use Dropbox).
Did you not even submit any evidence or witness statement but merely said 'I wasn't driving'? This one should have been easier than most to defend, if you'd asked for help earlier with what to say. This wasn't a fine and there were legal arguments against it.
Tell us who you are dealing with. Has the judge allowed you time to submit more evidence and what EXACTLY does the order say which allows you to do so? Are you only allowed to add evidence of a crime number and nothing else?
So far I am unimpressed with this 'really good Judge' but it can't have helped if you put in practically nothing as a defence. Please show us the parking firm's Witness Statement and evidence.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, the company is Vehicle Control Services Ltd. I had previously submitted my statement via post to Northampton CC, just stating it wasn't me, I had never been to Birmingham. Unfortunately I never used my debit card on that day, I have no FB location stamp to prove I was in Liverpool, my hairdresser appointment book is only hand written, there is no CCTV in her shop. I got charged with the costs as due to not presenting a good enough case and the judge adjourned for me to gather evidence from the police but they refuse point blank to give me a crime number as 'they don't know what crime is being committed'. I've spoke briefly to CAB but the advisor thinks I'm stuck in a corner and will have to pay. Out of pure principle I will not pay it wasn't me. No one else has access to my car, I'm single and my children don't drive.0

I'm not allowed to post links0 -
Post the link but put a *between H T T P, someone will tidy it up to be readable.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
