I drive a range rover and regularly get flashed at. My lights are just bright I guess.

Or maybe they are mounted high up relative to other road users. I think part of the reason headlights are getting more annoying is the growth in SUVs on our roads.

Full beam makes only makes sense if there are almost no vehicles coming the other way otherwise you end up having to keep switching from main beam to full beam every few seconds.

I live in the sticks. Almost no cars coming the other way is the norm... which makes not being able to see far enough ahead to overtake safely even more frustrating.

If you have mirrors that rotate far enough, a good tip is to reflect the beam from the car behind you back into their eyes:cool:

Hahaha, never even thought of that! Hahaha, I do have rotatable mirrors and I tried to move them out of the way but then I ended up blinding my girlfriend in the passenger seat. Might try your suggestion now though when she's not with me! :rotfl:

Driving down the M5 last week in torrential rain I was surprised at the number of cars without any lights on at all thundering down lane 3 at 80+ mph. Do these people have a death wish?
I wonder how many of them have DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) on their cars, with the dashboard permanently lit, so they don't actually realise that they don't have any (appropriate) lights on?
A lot of cars now come with automatic full beam dipping.
My M3 has this. It doesn't work - it's just too slow to react to oncoming cars, and after trying it for a couple of days (and cringing during the couple of seconds lag during which I would have switched already back to dipped beam) I turned it off. It also got confused by reflective road signs and was slower to switch the full beams on than I would have been.

There's a lot of crap on modern cars (automatic lights, automatic wipers, voice control, etc, etc) that just never works as well as doing things yourself - and gives a whole generation of drivers the belief that they now have enough spare capacity while driving that they can also text/email/phone rather than concentrate on their car.
