People who dont dip their lights.

!!!!!!, the number of people who drive with their lights at full glare, did them, !!!!!!. I've now got retina burn not only from those towards me but some inconsiderate moron in his van behind me in the traffic. Actually got out my car to ask him if he could kindly lower the beam...'Huh!(Gorilla tone), they are dipped.'

  • Modern vehicle headlights are very bright, on top of that, boy racers fitting aftermarket HID kits and people who don't think about adjusting their lights to compensate for a load in the back.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Calm down, it may well be that they are indeed dipped but just very bright. Also I imagine that a lot of people making similar observations don't generally drive at night especially at this time of year.

Also, can I ask what sort of age are you and when was the last time you had your eyes checked.

Car coming towards me the other evening - small car - had THREE pairs of lights on the front of his car, to say it was dazzling is an understatement.

I totally agree but I have a major problem too with people not putting their bluddy lights on at all.

And those who dont check their lights are working properly. If there is only one light working it
can be mistaken for a motorbike, its so dangerous.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.

See this is what I'm talking about. A small car with not three, but three pairsof lights. It's just not necessary. Just get a bigger car and people will see it without having to light it up:D

Van headlights tend to be higher so if close behind you they could cause problems.

You should be able to dip your interior mirror.

Driving on urban roads a few nights ago I saw a grey people carrier driving without lights. It wasn't as easily visible as the cars with lights on but I could see it.
People who need extra bright dipped headlights should get their eyes tested although I suspect many of them are owned by boys who think they are modding their car by changing the bulbs.
  • I agree with the OP... this problem seems to be worse this year than ever.
Less plod on the roads to police anti social driving.

    No need for the language!

There are lots more cars on the roads now with HID and LED lights. They are very much brighter than the old halogen lamps. My lights are very effective, but I wouldn't like to be the guy coming the other way. The dealer tells me they are correctly aligned though.

There should be more for the Christmas drink drive campaign.
  • I wonder how many have the lights on their highest setting! I have hired a few cars and almost without exception their lights are too high!
Plus why don't manufacturers standardise the knob for adjusting headlights. Nissan and Ford knob numbers work in opposite ways!
