Just had this offensive email from those gits at HSBC:
I'm working on my response, but it will end with HAPPY CHRISTMAS.
Is there some regulator or other to which I can report my offence at this message? I wonder if the police would be interested? They seem to be red hot on matters where people are offended, or are likely to be offended.
No mention of Christmas! I suppose this is another attempt to brown-nose up to their American regulators. Since when did we greet people with that obnoxious phrase of "Happy Holidays" in this country?Mr Bob, Happy Holidays
Get ready for the holidays with our latest offers.
WISHING YOU
A JOYFUL
HOLIDAY SEASON
Dear Mr Bob
As we're approaching the holiday season, it's a good time to think about your plans. So whether you're preparing a feast for family and friends, or thinking about getting 2017 off to a good start, our offers could help you to make it the best time of the year.

Christmas also co-incides with Hanukkah this year (starts on the 24th December), so technically they are correct as it is holidays and not just Christmas being celebrated at this time.0

Never heard of it. In the UK 24 December is Christmas Eve.0 -

I am also British (born in England, as were both of my parents). I have always known about Chanukah, the Jewish festival that is celebrated at around the same time as Christmas. And Judaism has been present in England for at least as long as Christianity.0 -

As a theist (you seem to be from your repulsion of Christmas not being mentioned), I do find it odd that you wouldn't know another religion's major holiday festival, especially as Christianity is based on Judaism and indeed an offshoot of this religion.0 -

According to Wikipedia this is not quite right:The first recorded Jewish community in Britain was brought to England in 1070 by King William the Conqueror.
Regardless, the point here is that HSBC is operating in a Christian country but is playing the political correctness game by denying the heritage of that country.0 -
As an ardent agnostic, I don't care.0

You don't celebrate Christmas? No tree? No presents?0
