Straw poll: Do you want to retain FOM?
Comments

My observations here were that most leave voters were against FOM as a matter of principle. I was interested to see if this was correct or if there was more to the story that I was missing. It would be good if you'd participate but if not there are other threads where you can insult me0

Given your original post, I find it interesting how you decide to poll rather than consider the question posed by Clapton in the "If we vote Brexit" thread:its really a simple question
how many 100s of million of immigrants would you find
acceptable
Schengen has no bearing on free movement of EU citizens : all 500 million are entitled by law to come here
how many would be too many?
If you could answer this, perhaps then others may better understand the minds of certain remain voters around here.0 -

Sadly you allow your own prejudices and bigotry to overwhealm common sense and rational thought.
The great majority of leavers object to the practical impact of FOM rather than the principle of people moving from country to courtry.
They wish that the UK parliment should be able to control the numbers.0 -

I've answered it many many times. Even this very day. Perhaps you have some prejudices yourself that don't allow you to see things clearly?0 -

I have no problem with immigration but think uk voters should be allowed to set the rules and if for example we decide that we are equally happy to take skilled migrants from Australia as we are from Austria then that should be our decision.
I am not one of those racists who are happy with unlimited migration from predominantly white Christian countries but sets strict limits on those with darker skins or who worship false prophets.I think....0 -

Kindly point out these prejudices?
Another facetious answer from mwpt, I note.

Ask me whatever you like and I'll try to answer truthfully. You on the other hand, dodge questions.0 -

I hope you realise that in wanting to see the end of FOM then that means losing your rights to live and work elsewhere in the EU/EEA without having to go through government bureaucracy. Are you happy having fewer rights than someone with an Irish, Norwegian or Bulgarian passport? It will be legal for employers and governments in Germany, Spain or Sweden to discriminate against British passport holders.0 -

Don't we live in a world where geography is less important than ideas. Why would I rate being able to work in Croatia over Chile?
Ending FOM won't make it easier for you to get a job in Chile but it will make it harder to get one in Croatia.
I was in Malta recently and saw several businesses with staff wanted signs in the window saying "Must have EEA passport". Soon no Brits need apply.0
