@SarahwithloveQuite abit before it would be squeaky bum time/ living off baked beans time.Sarahwithlove said:If you got the 45k how long would that give you to find another job? Are there jobs in your field for different companies out there? If so I'd be tempted to ride it out for redundancy as that gives you options such as training in something else.

Thanks @BlackcatsBlackcats said:I hope you have been able to make a decision that is good for you. It's always about this time of year that consultations and organisational change start in order to implement from the new financial year. I worked in HR for years and it always seemed such rubbish timing especially issuing 3 months notice on 1st January - happy new year (not!)
does your workplace have Trade Union reps?
They do we have Unite , i am a member but so far i havent being impressed i attended 3 meetings they were present in and bar one of them they didnt say a word. Chocolate fireguards
We would be paid until May ie nights shift included, after that Gardening leave 3 months no shift allowance.
Its the same here, they were talking about my departments Xmas party the other day. I had to bite my tongue. I cant sit and smile and wave @ a paid for Xmas do. We took on 10 new staff across the department in April we were catagorically then told of expansion plans and jobs would be safe 3-4 years. I smelt !!!!!!, its what my company does
ie take on new staff pay them 20000py
then every 3-4 years do this and cull a dozen or more staff that have being there 20 years plus that have worked to get to 35000-40000py salary ie me0 -

Xmas Present Early Guys
Well guys, the news is in. I have good news and minor bad news. Which would you like first? lolOkay, good news first lol
Thursday gone I had an interview for the new restructured role where I work. On Friday morning I got a call saying I had been accepted for a position. Whoop whoop!
Around 70 staff went for it and only 18 positions, from memory.Sorry I’ve been quiet, but I have literally spent the last week to ten days hounding anyone at that pay grade and picking their brains about interviews. I have been putting together questions around the competencies, then practising them over and over, tweaking them, then practising them again and again lol.Monday to Thursday I was driving into the office for 4pm, prepping until 8:30pm, then doing a 9pm–7am night shift, then repeating. This last week I have run myself into the ground. I wanted to walk into that interview like an over-prepared “Fonzy” — prepared but ice cool. The way my mind works is, if I don’t get a job, I don’t mind as long as I’ve given 200 percent to get it.
Another positive is it’s around a £3,500–£4,000 payrise.
They did say the exact figure when they called me, but I didn’t make a note of it — I had my little girl asleep on me and I just burst into tears. This week has being so overwhelming and i have being running on caffiene and red bullThe contract comes tomorrow and I start training in the new year.Bad news — still on night shift, but 4 on, 4 off, so it’s not all bad. So for my family unit, it’s good.2 -
That's great news - well done for all your prepping and focus.
Happy Days as The Fonz might say!0 -
Haha totally thank you @Blackcats. I will pop in and have a diary mooch in abit.0

Fantastic news, very happy for you! The 4 on 4 off, my ex used to work that way, the good thing about it was that I could tell exactly if he will be working on X day in couple of months when I was planning some days/nights out together, so there is that.
Anyway, great news just before Christmas, well done on securing it and congrats! I hope you get some well deserved break over Christmas/New Year. All the best!Mortgage: £173,700 Sep 22 £158,300 Dec 25
