I am lovely this driving malarky even in the mint green tin can. I was in the office on Tuesday, it was so lush driving in and back 20mins there 30 back. And paying the 2.40 each way for the Tyne tunnel beated what i was doing ie ubers 20-25 quid each way, or metro/metro/bus which wasnt costing loads maybe 10-15 a shift but it took an hour 45 to 2 hours each way.
I am so relieved i passed as i can support my partner more, she is 19 weeks and she looks 30 weeks bending and driving are getting harder and harder for her.
Well my other half doesnt want an suv i did suggest the smaller suvs the Ford Ecosport, Vw T cross and Cireon Aircross but her response they are too big. Think we are gunna go for a Seat Ibiza maybe0 -
Well my goals now are 3 things dead straight forward ones
1) boost my Emergency fund its about 3 quid at minute as i took a dent in it to clear Stepchange
2) Clear the loan I have to my o/h which is 3700 i lend some extra money from her to help clear stepchange too.
We are quite lucky as income wise we have a good income between us so i can pay my o/h a couple of hundred pm and an equal share of the bills and she is saving 2/3 of it for when he pay drops when she goes on mat leave. She has about 15000 built up ish.
3) Build up my other savings
I have just opened 5 accounts with Revolut and i am getting 4 percent on each.
EF
Holiday Fund
Car Fund/mainteance
Xmas Birthdays
Treats
I am gunna keep surveying/being wise with cashback/and doing tiny bits on vinted/we buybooks etc0 -

Well here is my update
I am home and back to reality after 4 nights away in Edinburgh, I have 2 more nights to work after this then thats me off a week. Edinburgh was great the missus was working two days of it, so I took advantage of an offer i found at the Nuffield Health Gym on St James Square free 3 day pass. Swim/Sauna/Jacuzzi/Steam room everyday followed by a steak meal in the Wetherspoons next door. It was a hard two days.
I did some overtime Saturday gone and last night, and i have more booked in Saturday morning. Trying like made to get my savings balances up to try and put money together so my missus can stay on mat leave 12 months and for a deposit for a new car. I should of saved more when i was learning to drive but with IVF and paying 60-65 quid pw a lesson as i was learning to drive and debt busting it was hard.
Money wise we are okay i am just trying to blitz down my other half loan. I am giving her currently 665 for bills and 115 off the loan i have with her. She is saving half of it, so the more i can give her the more she can boost her savings pot for her mat leave. Where she works i think she gets 6 months full, 3 months half, then 3 months of statutory she want to take the full 12 months off and come back phased on month twelve.
We have also looked at car finance for a new motor, well used motor currently we have nothing put away for a deposit so we are trying to build that so we dont have as high a monthly payment for the finance.
Finances wise we have just swapped our mortgage to a fixed deal for 3 years at a slightly lower apr so thats saving us 40quid pm.
We have also rang bt and said we are leaving them as they were being awkward as heck cancelling discovery plus but its amazing how quick they cancel something when you say sky broadband or plus net are offering less than them. Discovery is now gone and our bb is down from 62 to 31pm.1
