  • Just think where you would be though if your other half hadn't helped out and you hadn't reduced the debt so much.
Oh trust me I do on a regular basis. I have being so lucky my other half has really good job thats alot higher paid than mine and she has savings a heck of alot higher than me. We talked a lot when I moved into here initially she was going to lend me all the money too pay it off but I refused. So we agreed I wouldnt take on any new debts which I cant any way due to my dmp with Stepchange and that I would give her a nominal amount towards bills until things are clear.

I haven't took the mick when I moved in here I had a few debts with friends and family.. I am slowly seeing light at the end of the tunnel, I have had debts upwards of 10-15 years and I cant wait to be free.

I still survey blitzing but not as much as I was

That's great and I assume as she has a good paid job it's not causing her any financial hardship so a win win situation in a way. I'm glad things are working out for you.

  • Hi Scott - good to see you posting again!  I'm so pleased that you've found a wonderful partner and I hope all goes well with the IVF and preparations for the wedding. Well done too at the debt blasting!👍
Try Opinium for surveys. I've been doing these for years. You can cash out at £25 and I seem to receive a survey most days so it's not long before I can grab the cash!😁

No its not causing her any issues and we are in it the long game. As I have said she has offered me the money to pay it all off but I feel weird if this makes sense borrowing money to clear debts where some of them were dumped on me by an ex partner.

I would rather do what we are doing get me clear then i can then pay more towards bills/save more together etc.

Okie Dokie my update lol sorry this is a long one.

So it was my birthday last week 45 years young and I still feel 25 lol. My other half was amazing if there was an a plus plus award available she would get it.

She surprised me and took me glamping two nights I don't know if any of you have ever watched that Robson Green weekend escapes thing on BBC but we went to one of the places he stayed in up in Northumberland. The place was great a little wooden Sheppard's hut with fire pit outside/huge metal out door bath/log burner and the only noise was sheep no people no traffic no hustle and bustle. I kid you not we kept count of the different wild life we saw one day 8 lol: hares, rabbits, sheep, deer, stoats, cows, horses, herons'
The place was brilliant and totally what we both needed after a really rubbish/end of July and August, our ivf journey has cut us both really deeply. I don't know how to feel about it even now, I feel I let her down. We argued so much when she was on the IVF hormones and i blame myself i didn't handle things the best. My o/h changed and I will be honest we don't normally argue and are great together it was a shock not being able to do anything right or fighting over stupid things. Example her sense of smell was crazy, lil things would make her wanna puke it was that bad at one point i would put deodorant on outside as the smell would make her feel icky but occasionally i would forget.

For my birthday I got spoilt: a new Garmin swim 2 watch, a nice bottle of mead, and dark chocolates. We had a day at a distillery up in Wooler called Ad Gefrin. The distillery was worth the visit as on our first day at the s.h. after lunch the weather for 2-3 hours was mehhhhh. Then on what i thought was our final day we had a day at Lindisfarne, seal spotting/seafood/a few Guinness, walking around the Priory/Castle. I had to hide my vikings tattoos as i didnt wanna worry the locals.

Alcohol bought Mead/ this stuff called Flyte which is like a strong whiskey based Baileys, Whiskey obviously and we bought some rum in Lindisfarne.

On our final day just as we were packing up my other half said " I don't wanna go home do you?" Obviously I said no, she said its a good job we are not then, we had another night at a b and b in Bamburgh which was great. We had loads of meals out and net result a brilliant time but my diet guru/gym guru wasn't pleased lol

    Weight gain 2kg lol

We got home on Saturday night and its good being home but rubbish being back to city life.

On a plus note I have being on the scales since Saturday and i am down 0.8kg this morning, we drank quite abit as we both needed a blow out.

My other half is away to London 2 nights from tomorrow with work. I have tonight and tomorrow at work then I have a jobs list a mile long for Thursday/Friday.  On Saturday we are getting new carpets fitted through the entire flat, so if anyone lives in Newcastle and fancies painting 2 ceiling volunteers will be rewarded with Mead lol I have carpets and underlay to cut up and dispose of, furniture to move about

Finance wise me and the o/h have spent a fortune in 3 days but May/June/July we were so careful re Ivf we didn't drink, i packed in vapeing and we lived off rabbit food. We didnt wanna do anything to jeopardize anything.
Survey wise I have clicked the following since we got back

    Curious Cat £1.65
    Cashabck off Chase £1.50
Vinted sale £2.50 on the way
Store rewards 2 quid incoming once I upload the 20 or so receipts in my wallet in 10mins.

  • Just got up after being on nights I am shot.

Gym done this morning, steps are off the chart 12250 so far.  I am hoping for a good weight loss on Sunday coming, macros I have stuck to like glue loads of tuna/spinach/skyr/oats/and sweet potato. I am loving Vanilla skyr oats and protein powder its like eating Vanilla cake mix lol

I am knackered I was backwards and forwards all morning chopping up carpets and moving furniture. We are getting new carpets fitted on Saturday.

Surveys I havent had the time I have done one opinion research surveys thats it.

But 25 quid earned from a from a fb sale, I sold some old covid bought dumbells. EF boost and wedding and gym treat clothes funded boosted. I have a tiny Adidas addiction but I always save for it.
  • Happy belated birthday Scott!🎂
Enjoy your new carpets!  I love that new carpet smell when they're first fitted!

  • I will post again soon, posting this from bed lol i have the Covid lurgy !!!!!! gerrrrrr
  • I am abit better today I am still testing positive gerrrrrrr but on a plus note i didnt have to go into the office today.

I still sound like i have smoked 90 marlboro and i hate that i keep going hot/cold then feeling bear hugged around the chest.

Today I have just slept allday/ hide away as my other half dealt with a joiner who rehung two doors. He was forewarned to wear a mask and didnt wanna cancel the job which surprised me
